This prompted me to go back and check the claim that "On current DWP forecasts, from the 2024 election until 2030, Labour will have increased working-age benefit spending by a further £51.6 bn/year." It appears to be equally fictional/spreadsheet error. Correct figure is maybe £36bn..

NEW: Kemi Badenoch’s flagship party conference policy document, The Right Way, overestimated the cost of net zero by nearly £500bn, seemingly after someone accidentally double-counted figures on a spreadsheet. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

This week's BBC Question Time is from N London. There's a by-election there next week, which looks to be a closely-fought contest between Labour and the Greens. One of those parties is not represented on the QT panel this week. Can you guess which one, boys and girls? Can you?

The NEET rate basically hasn't changed for the whole of this century (except post-GFC and post Covid). It's been the same with tougher welfare sanctions and weaker. More apprenticeships and fewer. Higher employer national insurance and lower. I draw two conclusions from this....

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.

It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to
Labour ideology. Burnham has no mandate
from the people. He has no real ideas, and
no plan,

Back in June 2016 I was in France with two friends. We had booked the return trip in order to vote in the Brexit ref. On the way back, my friends were telling me that they were going to vote to leave the EU. I said leaving the EU was insane, but they wanted to use their vote to kick Cameron. 1/

Right-wing press and ideologues will have you believe that the UK is the most heavily taxed place. They promise the impossible, European/Scandinavian levels of social security with American levels of taxation. This graph puts things in perspective.
