this mindset is so baffling. It's been less than four years since ChatGPT was launched, and this person's perspective is that society has fundamentally changed so much, that people literally wouldn't know what to do without it. 1/
I have one answer.
Another person has died at Delaney Hall, the second in a period of months, supposedly of an unspecified "medical emergency." His name is Edwin Lopez-Cornejo. He was just 41 years old. When we fight against ICE, we are fighting to save lives. This is urgent. crimethinc.com/DelaneyStrat...

Working with anarchist artist NO BONZO, we've made a support poster to inform people about the Minneapolis 15 case. 15 people are federally charged with conspiracy for allegedly defending their neighborhoods from ICE. Please print these out and post them everywhere! crimethinc.com/posters/supp...
I mean maybe it's true the Prairieland defendants made some poor tactical choices. That concerns me a whole hell of a lot less than the fact nearly a dozen protestors are facing 30-100 years cause they were supposedly "bad at activism" or whatever. But that's just me 🤷♂️.
"Their actions ensured that they struggled to achieve sympathetic media coverage outside of a few left-wing outlets, struggled to attract material or legal support (the ACLU, for instance, refused to touch the case), and failed to achieve positive virality in the larger culture."
1/ a chilling, short (100 page) book about an England where nameless authorities & their thugs (the "they" from the title) enforce ever-changing cultural rules, & round up or kill people deemed undesirable-- while many ppl ignore the violence, & accept the new rules as they lead their daily lives

i was a readers encyclopedia kid, myself. I loved flipping to random pages and learning about books and mythological creatures and famous writers
Were you a child who read The World Book Encyclopedia for fun?
the way that right-wing extremist phraseology is creeping into media articles (for ex., "low IQ" as an insult instead of "dumb") is disturbing they're creating new language to express their creepy ideas-- and then when other ppl start using those terms, that mindset spreads as well, in its own way
The woke mob is mad about my murder spree even though it's creating lots of new jobs at funeral homes

it's amazing to me that the legendary bastion of Boston 80s/90s weirdness that was the Allston Mall... is represented in wikipedia with this backrooms-esque photo i mean, this place gave birth to Quimby's, among many other things @quimbysbookstore.bsky.social en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_All...

The decision of so many people to keep using X in its race-war phase has made me a bit more cynical overall about the ability to draw moral red lines. It’s beyond disappointing.

"Why are all these Black Artists taking My White Spot?!"
My beef with Morrissey runs all the way back to 1986 when he said this about Black artists. Nineteen Eighty Six, while the Smiths were still active. It’s not a “later phenomenon” don’t try and lie to me www.standard.co.uk/culture/musi...
