“Tell us a bit about yourself” Yeah, I’m spectacularly shit at that. I like cats and British crime shows and knitting and ghost stories and also GO DUCKS 🏈

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Work venting: if someone forwards an email with FYI in the body, it is for your information and not a call to action. You do not then get to follow up later screaming about how something wasn’t done. Jesus Christ words mean things

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

My best friend Kate died 20 years ago today. She was smart, funny, acerbic in a kind way, talented, and had way too hard a life. She did not live to see 30 which is so deeply, profoundly unfair.

hey ben. the guy in the picture here is an actual person, my friend’s dad, and a spiritual leader of Lakota people, Chief Arvol Looking Horse. not only does he support Indigenous People’s Day, he’s the founder of World Peace and Prayer Day. feels weird to use his image and not his name.
