Heads up to anyone here who knows me on Discord. But my Discord account has been hacked and I have lost full control of it without any chance of recovery currently until the Discord support line responds. The hack was initiated via social engineering convincing me to download a link to install.

Ronald Knox's 10 Commandments of Detective Fiction is really funny because it's mostly "here's all the shit i wish detective stories would stop doing" and one of them is just "orientalism" because detective novels back then loved going "the killer was an evil chinese" (TW slur, it was the 20s)

The ten star hunts are fun in Wilds but only because they’re built around trying to cart players with a handful of instant-death attacks. It’s not the same difficulty philosophy that MH used to have

It's the only Monster Hunter I've played that I wouldn't want to boot up and play again right now, and I can't point to any single thing (aside from thinking Focus Mode is fundamentally destructive to the combat) but a lot of it comes down to "turns out the clunk was load-bearing"

Weakness Exploit was *largely* fine as a reward for what you already want to be doing anyways, i.e. hitting the head/wings/tail. Riiiiight up until iceborne let you just put a weakspot anywhere you wanted, at which point it became absolutely insane. And then they just made it a core part of Wilds..?

Would highly recommend zen browser, has a bit of a learning curve but it's just bare bones (as far as it can be) Firefox. Sync with your mozzila account also works for bookmarks, extensions, ect.

idgaf the numbers are what they are, and they don't even include console which heavily skews in Destiny's favor. This situation is absolute insanity - one of the most nonsensical, ass-backwards decisions I've ever seen.

It's bizarre how repeatedly people keep hijacking the conversation about Accessibility away from things like closed captioning, colorblindness support, alt-text for screen-readers, etc, to "Games should be easier to play, books should be easier to read, and shows should be simple to understand"

its wild how much heavensward's msq just does not use so much of its own maps sea of clouds is maybe the worst offender, 80% of that zone has no reason to exist
