some oh my days for wip wednesday. (cw for a mention of recreational drugs)

Jack shoved his way to the bar while Ed hung back, taking in the scene. The club was packed, and everyone was young, and hot, and probably horny. In a way, it made him feel old, but at the same time, it made him feel like a twenty-something again, made him remember all the nights he'd spent in bars and clubs, although they'd never been anything like this back then. It had felt just as good, though, to find a place to let loose, to feel free. Not that he could really do that now— not in West Hollywood, at the very least— but he could watch other people do it, and that counted for something. It reminded him of New York, though— of Stede, who did go to clubs sometimes, and who no doubt did feel free, and who, fuck, for all he knew, was at some club in Manhattan at that very moment, hooking up with someone who (blessedly, for Stede) wasn't Ed.

A nudge in the shoulder snagged Ed's attention, and then a cold drink was being shoved into his hand as Jack nudged his way beside him, already sweating a bit beneath his half-unbuttoned denim western shirt.

"There's a fuckin' mountain of coke on the bar, if you want a line," Jack offered, and Ed couldn't help but notice a little evidence of it in his mustache.

"Think I'm good," he replied, because it wasn't like he was above the occasional line or key bump, but at least one of them probably needed to have his shit together, lest the night go entirely off the rails.
