I just watched the (recorded) Colbert Finale. All good, as always/expected. But the Benny tribute made me break down. I was only expecting comedy.
Basement pre-garden update. Tomatoes are 15" tall. Have 32 pots with parsley sprouts (for swallowtail caterpillars) and another 32 not up yet. Also 6 sprouts (and 2 waiting) of Boldog peppers for a paprika attempt. The rest gets direct seeded, at least this year.
I do not understand why any seed should need 14 days to germinate. Doesn't Nature understand that I have needs for happy moments? (I believe in you parsley.)

Last weekend, I seeded 24 pots of basil inside. (I want pesto). Yesterday there were no sprouts. Today there are sprouts in every pot (at least one). [happy basil dance]
Today's long procrastinated, and craved, task was refried beans. My second try. I had forgotten just how filling/satisfying a moderately sized rice&bean burrito can be. Why do I put off good things for so long. 2 pints in the freezer, 1 in the fridge.
Tomatoes! I picked a bad week to be down/inside with a cold. There is a lot of prep to be done.
