I'm real glad "talking shit about the movies we don't like" is back on the agenda. Death to all the poptimism

I am obsessed with Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. People have called it an "indie Skyrim" and that's definitely accurate but it's so much more than a knockoff. If you're at all into Bethesda style games try it. This could be Elder Scrolls 6 but for the Xbox 360 graphics
Taking my time to really listen and learn from the very valid concerns of the MAHA movement:
we should hear MAHA out about this they might be onto something
For years there's been this really tacky trend in online pop culture criticism where you must label your thing "my BRUTALLY HONEST review of [movie / tv series / video game / etc]" as if you were otherwise not going to be honest. Is this a legacy of gamergate?
CHAFETZ PLANS TO LOSE WEIGHT ON ALL-FRENCH-FRY-AND-GIN DIET
SPACEX PLANS MOON FACTORIES POWERED BY HUMANOID ROBOTS
My similarly anodyne opinion is that competitive elections are good for democracies
My ice-cold boring take that will definitely not go viral is that a primary result with a margin of victory of roughly 1 percent tells you precisely nothing about The Future Of The Party.
Okay this was funny (absolutely right about the pet thing)
I've lived in rural (and urban-ish) North Louisiana going on 15 years. Mostly deep red, pockets of light blue. I've not seen people organize around any issue like the data centers. They won't beat Amazon's and Meta's money in the short term, but they're ripe for mobilization.
I’ve been screening our documentary with organizing communities in the South. So far, the organizers mention data centers first at every single event. From racial justice orgs to old school activists who don’t usually think about tech policy. This has legs.
This is because unregulated betting markets exist and I'm not even kidding
It is cracking me up that NBC News has a “Kornacki Cam”
Real messed up that we have a system in which the most popular person wins
haley stevens is going to lose due to the cool kids. it's so fucked up when you think about it
Listen, my dog's asshole is clean because he spends 14 hours a day licking it
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
Got a google alert about a man in Wales named Andrew McKevitt who didn't show up to his court ordered community service hours after throwing a kettle of boiling water (and missing) at a friend. Concerned this is going to affect my algorithm presence
The thing about the IRS immunity agreement is that you just don't have to respect it. Once he's out of office you can just act like it never happened. In fact there is no reason to respect any agreement this criminal administration makes with anyone
I love how in the Texas context Talarico being "too extreme" means he's a little too enthusiastic about the gospel of Matthew
More voters are concerned Paxton "lacks the character to serve as a senator" than think Talarico is too extreme (59% vs. 47%). Twice as many Republicans are concerned about Paxton's character as Democrats are that Talarico is too extreme (36% vs. 17%). /2 www.foxnews.com/politics/fox...
I'm starting to suspect that my tax dollars are going to munitions I'll never use, either
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Truly bananas that Jokic doesn't even get a mention. He's won 3 of the last 6 MVPs and came in second for the other three (and probably should have won two of them)
Who's the consensus best NBA player of all time? MJ or LeBron? To find out, I compiled all of the journalist player rankings that I could find. I found 54 in total. Here's what the experts think...
I love baseball but the truth is baseball guys are the dumbest guys
The whole Mariners' pen believes Babe Ruth didn't exist. Kinda want all MLB players to believe this and make the owners agree to it in next CBA
A "reading list suitable for students in blue states" is just a library. Give them a library card and let them run free
He spent one year visiting schools. I’ve been teaching high school and writing about this issue for years and I don’t think this is a good idea.
"Funnel veterans into miserable jobs where they'll be overworked and underpaid by some of the most rapacious companies in the country" sounds like a solid plan when your audience is all 65+ and thinks truckers still make middle class livings
VA Secretary Doug Collins: "These are some of the most highly skilled, highly trained, highly motivated, determined people we have in the workforce. Hey, why don't we put them behind a truck? ... they're gonna do it safer, they're gonna do it better"
Marveling at how many people it must take to google "what can I eat at chick fil a to help me poop" to get the algorithm to respond
What if the shows weren't worse though but rather they didn't have Netflix's marketing budget
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
