The last 3 years have been the hottest in around 125,000 years. CO2 levels are their highest in MILLIONS of years. But most people have no idea this is happening, let alone what it means for our kids’ futures. Our politics & media have failed our children. We should be furious.
Oh, so now we are co-opting mathematics? I think not.
Still feel like "Musk and his crew of incels destroyed a bunch of stuff they didn't understand and thereby hastened the deaths of millions of children" did not get the public attention it warranted.

Another example of the most basic fisheries management success. Reduce F, in this case to essentially zero, and SSB will increase. Sometimes it takes longer than we'd like, but lots of good ecology research happens in the meantime.

one unexpected outlook change from being a dad is taking the self care people 10x more seriously when it comes to dealing with weirdly directed anger and rage (including Online). many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers
2025 will end up as the warmest year by a substantial 0.8°F margin in #Albuquerque. The last time the record high was broken by a larger margin was 1950. Important difference: in 1950 there were 57 years in the historical record to compete against... in 2025 there were 132 years to compete against.

Meade Krosby@meadekrosby.bsky.social · 8mo agoMy teen, who had dreamt of being an astrophysicist, just told me he wants to go to law school because, “Science isn’t going to be a priority in the US in the future…I don’t want a job where I’ll be constantly worried my funding will be taken away.” Gutting. How many future scientists have we lost?
This was the same justification used to authorize the Juvenile Goliath Grouper harvest, too. That one just never made it to court where they had to admit it publicly.

A Florida bear hunt is a sad and pathetic thing. It's a blight on the wildlife commission that approved it and lied about bear populations in the state, which are on the decline due to massive and unwise clearcutting for development. DeSantis and the Repubs in charge are sacks of shit.
