This is a really important manuscript detailing the moral injury faced by clinicians unable to effectively care for their patients due to hateful, anti-immigrant policies. Please read and share widely.

9 lessons from Bethesda Declaration organizers on how to rescue US science: www.ovid.com/jnls/dartmou... 1. Scientists can no longer safely claim the privilege of being outside of, or above, politics 2. Inaction can be riskier than action. 3. Progress requires work. 4. Do not wait for someone else.

WHEW PREACH @katharinehayhoe.com!!!! Two things I think about often: 1. Climate scientists and clinical psychologists beg to differ when other scientists claim “science isn’t political!” 2. THINGS HAVE CHANGED. Neutrality is a myth when the ppl in power are literal eugenicists.
“Scientists should stop trying to be neutral and instead embrace their values,”says a group of top climate scientists, including @katharinehayhoe.com. The neutrality myth is harming the reputation of science right when we need it most.” #ClimateCrisis Science isn’t neutral. It’s science.
3/ Censorship and silence IS partisan. It allows continuation of the status quo (the destruction of NIH) and aids those currently in power (a particular political party). "Silence in the face of injustice is complicity with the oppressor."
NEW: A serious staffing shortage — of the Trump admin's own making — is delaying the agency's ability to send billions to universities around the country, leaving labs reeling in the meantime. “I thought we were at rock bottom”, a senior NIH official said. “We are below rock bottom now.”
NIH staffing shortage could slash number of new grants issued this year
Some units at the US funding giant are so understaffed, they are focusing on mandated grant renewals rather than new awards.

I’m alive because of my antidepressant. Pre-natal and postpartum ~stuff~ nearly did me in. To say that SUFS wouldn’t exist without my little blue pill isn’t an overstatement. Which is to say medication helps us be our best selves…RFK Jr. clearly doesn’t want that. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/04/s...

SCOOP: Two weeks ago, the head of the CDC delayed publication of a report showing covid vaccine cut likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations by half. Now that report is no longer allowed to be published in CDC’s flagship scientific journal. My latest. 1/2 www.washingtonpost.com/health/2026/...
CDC won’t publish report showing covid shots cut likelihood of hospital visits
The report, which had cleared the agency’s scientific-review process, had been delayed. It now won’t be published at all, people familiar with the decision told The Post.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is Federal body that “examines healthcare as it is delivered to patients, examining the quality, safety, and affordability of healthcare delivery”. Under RFK Jr., AHRQ has funded ZERO new studies for a year and has lost ~70% of its employees.

Attached is the letter I sent this afternoon to State Secretary Belio (Spain), and Mrs. Roberta Metsola (President of the European Parliament) regarding recent events in the United States, asking them to take action to preserve the dignity and sanctity of human life and to preserve global democracy.
Dimitri is good people, so his tribute to Alex means a lot. Gutting.
Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him. White. Hot. Rage.
