I'm not saying people aren't allowed to have opinions about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. I just think opinions about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict should be related to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. For example, you can make the sale of F-15s to the IDF about it but not fandom disputes.

Shockingly, 20-somethings still like to party and bone
“Why are the kids listening to music they can dance, fuck, and do drugs to” Obviously, to pull attention away from a state system that cannibalizes the region around it.
“Jews” and “Zionism” as objects of discourse bring out some pretty weird opinions
Obviously the pandemic was horrific, but I will say that there was something nice about the slower pace of life during lockdown. I do think that powerful people are scared of lockdowns because they showed an alternative way of being in the world
Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
“Most” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. There are 8.4 million people employed in primary and secondary education in the US. Even if less than 1% died, that’s still tens of thousands of people
I’m sorry but we knew very quickly that most staff in schools were likely to be fine.
When my ancestors came to this country, they passed under a statue promising refuge to the "tired, poor, hungry, huddled masses yearning to breathe free." Meanwhile, the southern aristocracy was using every means available to it to maintain a class of "tired, poor, hungry, huddled masses" 1/2
Another datapoint for the fascist radicalisation of institutional pillars of much of the American Right
The area around DU needs some 2010s Oakland (PGH) vibes
Capitalism doesn’t just mean “unjust economic structure”. It’s a very specific economic structure. Important corollary to this, is that just because an economy isn’t capitalist, doesn’t mean it’s just
I do think a lot of folks really don't understand that Capitalism is, in fact, a specific kind of economic structure, and not the original sin of mankind. (Redacted cause it's more illustrative of an issue in left-of-center politics and not the posters in particular)
20%…20% of Mississippi whites voting blue would flip this seat
Scoop: Schumer stopped by a fundraiser last night in DC for SCOTT COLOM, Dem Senate candidate in deep-red Mississippi, per two sources. Colom is facing GOP Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith. (Fun fact: Colom was nominated by Biden for a federal judgeship and blocked by… Cindy Hyde-Smith.)
Do we need to chemically castrate all men seeking elected office?
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "The decision by Barnes came amid reporting by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel into allegations that Barnes was taking advantage of his role in the party to have sexual encounters with young adult women." www.jsonline.com/story/news/p...
sex is great but have you ever eaten Cane's after a really shit day
The people who defended Platner did it because they've done similar stuff
Exclusive from me — Daniel Moraff, one of the political operatives behind Graham Platner's rise and fall, has been accused of sexual assault. Full story here:
I’m tired after a long week at work and trying to procrastinate on stuff for my upcoming move. So I’m going to offer The Definitive Will Stancil TakeTM. Social media has made us all forget that, at bottom, we’re all just “some guy”. Very few people are either irredeemably evil, or saintly 1/x
The nuclear block should be paired with a feature where every month you can send a petition to one person asking to be unblocked. Like there’s one guy on here who has me blocked who I genuinely quite like, have no major disagreements with, and who talks to my friends a lot. It’s really inconvenient!
Mitch McConnell’s salary comes out to $0.0005 per US citizen per year. Even if his recent medical costs have been 10x his yearly salary, that would be $0.005 per person per year. So the question is this, would we all chip in half a penny each to keep Mitch McConnell away from the senate?
My hardwired assumption that women are not interested in me is a recurring theme with my therapist
“DO NOT ASSUME INTEREST. They are just being nice” is a rule written in blood
I found it. The single worst Israel/Palestine take on Al Gore’s internet
@kayfourbee.bsky.social Local authority decision would exacerbate local reource shortage. But instead of seeing a better decision which doesn't create a resources crisis, your preferred solution is to tell people to eff off. That sounds liks the Netanyahu approach to urban planning […]
I love French Onion Soup. But why are people ordering it when it’s 100 degrees outside
For all the ink spilled trying to explain Trump, this is the base of it. White people who have nothing but their whiteness going for them realized whiteness might not get them as far as they once did and America’s most mediocre whites have been collectively shitting themselves ever since

kind of a mask off moment for liberal zionists angry that Mamdani said Netanyahu is a war criminal. 1

Okay, here’s my primary plan to solve all primary plans: States are grouped regionally into 5 groups of 10. Each group of states votes on the first Tuesday of February, March, April, May, and June. 1/2

Hegseth tried to wrap himself in the self-sacrifice of the military to avoid accountability and Sen. Peters was having none of it
😳 Hegseth snaps at Peters: "Your characterization of this incredible effort as a failure if reckless and irresponsible and smear the sacrifice of the troops. Shame on you." Peters responds: "You, sir, are the failure!"
