Mallory McMorrow endorses Abdul El Sayed minutes after NBC call
Goodnight
this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again
I would've liked a blowout, but still. pretty impressive given the spending disparity. and a massive rebuke to aipac.

Hispanics actively swinging 20+ points left lmao, you hate to see it if you’re Texas GOP
yall remember the Texas Fox News poll? yeah it’s real. they’re on the money
Oh and while everything about politics and government is a lot more complicated to assess than it was a few years ago...in 1986 there were e.g. two women in the Senate. Two. And I could keep giving examples like that all night.
Better than 40+ years ago? In addition to food, food, food, and food? Ballparks. Amusement park rides TVs Air quality. Most appliances, overall. TV shows, overall Plenty more. Did we mention food?
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
Counties with plenty of outstanding votes that might benefit whom Stevens: Wayne with 95,000 Macomb 26,000 Genessee 12,000 Abdul El-Sayed: Ingham 11,000 Wasthenaw 22,000 Kalamazoo 11,000 www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

CONGRATS TO THIS PROGRESSIVE CHAMPION ON WINNING TONIGHT! WOO HOO!!!
I couldn’t be prouder of the movement we’ve built in mid-Michigan. Thank you, Ambassador Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam, for your years of public service and all your hard work on the campaign trail. While tonight we celebrate, there’s still much more work ahead.
honestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.
Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."
Ingham County has about 25,000 votes left. El-Sayed can probably built his firewall
7,000 out of Wayne. Stevens nets 52%-45% via Kornacki Cam
everyone thinks it's still too close to call though.
Abdul El-Sayed holds narrow lead in Michigan Senate primary but race too close to call
I really think there are considerably different dynamics in R and D primaries, as the list Sam provides suggests. Having said that, I'd feel a lot better about El Sayed winning the general if he had in fact won by double digits!
regardless of which candidate you support I really hate this bit where pundits pretend being electable in a primary makes you electable in the general election just ask senators Hershel Walker, Blake Masters, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and Sharron Angle how that worked out for them
The correct response to AES underperforming the polls is he is weakest in a demo that will crawl over broken glass to vote for anything with a D next to their name.

Mail ballots extremely impressive for Stevens no doubt, and honestly better ED than I expected. On the flip side Abdul did better than expected on early votes. Very interesting stuff
It was over when Stevens did well, but not well enough in Detroit.
el-sayed has kind of stopped losing ground...
The sleeper question here is can El-Sayed keep the GOP-curious Arab/Muslim voters from continuing their cross over? This indicates a higher turnout in Dearborn than 2024. Important for the general election.
Up to about 75% of Dearborn ED in, and it's big margin for El-Sayed.
i think another way to create harder targets for bullies and bigots is help out the incarcerated. don't let the criminal justice system victimize whomever it wishes. uplift the vulnerable. get them bail and books and supplies. make sure their voices are heard. don't let people be made invisible
we need a real plan to stop racists. asking people to fix their hearts isn't going to work without pressure. one thing i'm a fan of is making the targets of bullies and bigots harder to mess with. don't let people just say shit about muslims or trans people or migrants. don't nod to avoid conflict
