You can say you're telling them not to violate student privacy. But the products from the companies who fund your training hover up as much data as they can - and frequently leak it. Or maybe they'll give it to the government or sell it to ICE. These are companies that gave to Trump's inauguration.

A teacher in this article says she wants to eventually use "A.i." to "analyze student data and flag those needing extra support or a challenge." If you're setting teachers loose to embark upon projects like this with consumer "A.i." products, you're setting up massive privacy violations for kids.
@rweingarten.bsky.social, you say in this article “I am not promoting the use of AI. Educators need to know the tool.” But the educators quoted ARE using "A.i." in the classroom. You're helping them do this. You COULD be helping them say NO, helping them find alternatives. But you are not.
Friends in NYC, if this makes you angry, PLEASE tell @mayor.nyc.gov @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social that we need a two year moratorium on "A.i." in the public schools - banning it for students AND teachers. Contact him here - and please do it NOW. School starts soon! www.nyc.gov/mayors-offic...

"A.i." companies cannot be trusted. They stole from thousands of artists and writers to create their datasets. Their products are associated with suicides, cognitive decline, and "A.i. psychosis." Trump is planning to force them to make their outputs less "woke," i.e., more racist and sexist.
You say you couldn't fund training without money from these "A.i." corporations. But by taking money from them, you've apparently put together a training that handwaves the dangers while pushing the tech into the classroom. That's inexcusable.
To your credit, @rweingarten.bsky.social, you have said you do not support students using "A.i." in K-8. But here you're pushing "A.i." on teachers, which means you're exposing kids to its dangers via compromised lesson plans, possible grading via "A.i.," & potential surveillance/privacy violations.
@rweingarten.bsky.social, this is a horror. Teachers cited in this article say they're using "A.i." to develop lesson plans for kids with disabilities and imply that they're feeding student data into LLMs. This is using untested, dangerous teach on vulnerable kids AND possibly violating privacy law.
“Teaching educators about AI is a ‘moral imperative’, said Randi Weingarten, the AFT president.” “And without outside funding, it was a choice between taking big tech’s money or doing nothing, she said.”

"Cool dude, see you in discovery!" is the obvious UNO Reverse card to Trump's attempts to bully organizations by suing them for a trillion dollars. It's a massive indictment of the US system that one after another institutions and major organizations settled and paid bribes rather than play it.

Mainstream media isn’t talking about it, but bulldozers and construction crews have descended upon Texas’ Big Bend National Park as the Trump administration moves forward with its border barrier project. The project will permanently damage one of our nation’s greatest natural treasures.
They need to switch it up at this point and ask them, Did Donald Trump win the 2020 election? It would put them in even more of a bind.
holy shit -- Schiff ties Trump's judicial nominees in knots by asking them who won the 2016 before *before* asking them who won in 2020, which results in them sounding like election deniers about Trump's victories!
