You are allowed to critique films. Critique is good. Engaging with films and art seriously is good. Emily's review was very good, quite apart from what you think of the film.

But it’s not “personal” to analyze a film or other work of art, even negatively. Criticism is more than “Hurray!” or “Hiss!”

There really needs to be more discussion of how bad the dialogue in The Odyssey is. "Our age of bronze is collapsing" should be a meme on the same level as "Somehow, Palpatine returns"

Sara Century@saracentury.bsky.social · 2w agoI understand that it sucks to have to read a book you didn't choose as a kid but when people are like 40 and still going, "well assigned reading turned me off from reading" it's like, ok but you're 40. No one has assigned you a book in like 20 years.
Absolutely disgusting and infuriating to see from a tour founded on defiance and moral clarity. End of that era, end of that illusion. A betrayal of the LGBTQ+ community and women.

"Remember to always check the output," they tell me. If I have to read the original document to make sure the summary is accurate, then the AI is a *useless and pointless* extra step, and I can never seem to convince anyone at work of this.
