This has got to be the vibiest place I've ever run DnD 😍 🏰🎲🧝🏾♂️🧙🏽♂️🧟🧛🏻♀️ Giving new players a taste of roleplaying games with @moonshineadventure.bsky.social was a pretty cool way to spend a day.

I MADE IT. After taking nearly 7 hours to travel 200km, I'm finally going home!
Update: I'm through security, into passport control. My flight is delayed, which is a blessing. Also, there's a cat in a bubble backpack miaowing adorably 😻

Update: after one cancelled train, one full train and over an hour in delays, I'm finally in Toulouse and in a taxi driven by a madman (complimentary) on my way to the airport. It'll still be touch-and-go, especially with the new EU security requirements...

Turns out it's not just UK trains that can't take the heat: I'm in France hoping against hope to get a train to the airport in time for my flight 😬 I could do with any spare luck anyone's got lying around rn 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hey science and sci comm folks! 👋 If you need an expert in planetary imaging or the politics of space, you need Divya. 🪐🛰️ She's experienced, hard-working and brings valuable perspectives to the field. Tell your friends 😉
If you value expertise and a stellar record otherwise, I am unemployed come December. divyampersaud.com/cv
This is a great example of how AI can be a powerful tool for *very specific* tasks (like detecting ink traces on ancient scrolls), but the real work (like translating and interpreting what's written) needs human expertise.
A lot of media coverage of the ‘AI’ reading of the Herculaneum scrolls really fails to understand what’s happened here. There’s no language processing happening, the AI/ML is not trained on a corpus of texts or language. It can detect ink to see shapes. HUMAN EXPERTS are then transcribing the text.
Irony isn't dead, it's just sweaty and tired

It's useless to engage with far-right messaging in good faith. Much more useful to think of it as DARVO: Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. This isn't the whole picture, but it's a useful tool to understand some of their tactics and how they work. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARVO

Funny how the police always seem to brutalise peaceful anti-fascist protestors and ignore/facilitate violence from the far right 🤔 What a weird coincidence, I'm sure there's nothing to examine here 🤷♂️

"create evidential material" is remarkable wordsmithing
Breaking news: Derbyshire Police has launched a criminal investigation and removed an officer from frontline duties over allegations of use of AI to "create evidential material in a number of cases": as.ft.com/r/46862d95-f...
Counter protest against the far-right in Liverpool. Please share it. Even if you're not in Liverpool, you might have followers who are and help is gonna be needed

In Tsarist Russia, a government run by inbred aristocrats instigated pogroms as a way of turning workers’ rage away from themselves and towards a racialized other Just saying
Elon Musk is unambiguously calling for a violent race war. This is far from unprecedented. The Rwandan Genocide was stoked and enabled by Felicien Kabuga, the wealthy owner of the RTLM radio station that helped coordinate the genocide and used euphemisms like "go to work" to signal attacks.
Fascists in Belfast set fire to buildings with people inside them. People of colour left work early to stay indoors. This is being actively encouraged by the world’s richest man whose openly pro-white nationalist platform X is still used by the UK government www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Louder for the people at the back, THE FIRING HASN'T CEASED. Israel is continuing its genocide of Palestine AND ethnically cleansing southern Lebanon AND killing Iranian civilians. I know it can feel like "old news" but it's real people being bombed, shot, starved, imprisoned and exiled.
The Israeli army is targeting Gaza's remaining residential blocks that were left standing after the ceasefire, leaving even more Palestinians homeless. "Fear has become a permanent guest in our homes," one resident told Mondoweiss. mondoweiss.net/2026/05/desp...
I learned something today and I thought I'd share it in case it brightens up your day like it did mine: 💪 Dolph Lundgren has a master's degree in chemical engineering 🧠 (btw this image isn't AI, it's from an ad he did for a NatGeo puzzle app)

Just to reiterate that an easy thing you can do to consistently provide help to Palestinians is to find a fundraiser and just make a recurring donation. I donate about the price of a nice cup of a coffee (£5) to the Giving Circle each week ⬇️
The occupation recently bombed a food warehouse for a massive displacement camp. What are we doing today to interrupt this policy of engineered starvation in Gaza? About 100 people rely on this one link to eat. Make a sustainable pledge: click "weekly" on a coffee or a five.
Persepolis was a life-changing work of art for me. It guided so much of the early steps I took outside of the oppressive, religious home I grew up in, and helped me to celebrate my own defiant, political, feminist spirit. RIP Marjane Satrapi. 🕊️
Sad to hear Marjane Satrapi, author of this extraordinary memoir, has died
Damn, yesterday John Blanche and today Marjane Satrapi 💔 Two artists who are indelibly etched into my psyche. I hope they're having a really interesting chat about art and authoritarianism wherever they are. RIP 🪦🪦
Yo that's me! 😱

i used this template and wrote in a bit about being disgusted by being used as a pawn in this fascist campaign against my trans peers. it was still quick and easy. cis people/those not at risk of being targeted need to get on this and not leave the trans community fending for themselves
Westminster MPs have until the end of the month to reject the proposed anti-trans guidance. If you haven’t written to your MP yet, here’s a good template for you to use. writetheletter.bimini.workers.dev
