Dundee UCU is supporting staff and saying no to job cuts at the University of Dundee. Our campaign to #SaveDundeeUni https://sites.dundee.ac.uk/ducu/

In 50 days time our members will be taking 5 weeks of strike action. We call for the redundancy process to be stopped! Executives want 200 jobs to go (187FTE). Due to resignations and retirements, and non-staff savings, they are 35FTE from their staffing target. Stop this cruel, flawed process.

Thanks to Students Against Cuts and Generator Projects for creating and hosting this exhibition. This is what you’ll lose - features submissions from Art and Philosophy students, graduates and staff at the University of Dundee. Open 12-5pm now until 5/8/2026.

Text on the poster states “This is what you’ll lose” which is the exhibition title. An art + philosophy exhibition in protest to the cuts. Exhibition opens 30 July to 5th August 2026.

“We have for six weeks now requested full financial data, we have still not received this. “Data on students numbers and projections has not been supplied. “Equality impact assessments are incomplete and with no mitigations. Stress risk assessments inadequate. www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/...

We have had reports that some colleagues who are not at risk of redundancy, have been making derogatory comments about the value of colleagues who are now at risk. This behaviour is having a disproportionate effect on BME staff. 1/2

Our branch has analysed the conditions of funding from SFC that the University of Dundee needs to comply with to access additional funding. Our analysis demonstrates without doubt that the conditions of funding were breached. We were stunned when the SFC approved it given that we had spoken 1/2
