I can’t believe we’re still having a debate about whether there’s a trade off between job creation and measures to green the economy. There isn’t. The evidence was clear years ago - a green economy creates far more jobs than the fossil fuel economy it replaces. Come on Labour, catch up …

Direct, full-time jobs opening Rosebank oilfield would create: 450 D, f-t jobs opening Jackdaw gasfield would create: 27 D, f-t jobs in UK's net-zero economy: 300,000 + 400,000 more on the way D, f-t jobs in the rest of the green economy: 600,000 Is that really the hill Burnham wants to die on?

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

💢 Video, satellite imagery, and weapons analysis indicate the U.S. dropped a 2,000-pound on a family home in a densely populated residential neighborhood on Iran’s Qeshm Island overnight Thursday, The New York Times reported.

The strike killed a husband, wife, and their 2-year-old son. Two other children, now orphaned, were pulled alive from the rubble.

The report says evidence raises serious questions about why one of the U.S. military’s largest conventional bombs was used in a residential area and whether the use is consistent with international law.Bild

🎥🇵🇸 “We went to sleep under a ceasefire… thinking that the situation would get better.”

Footage from Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah shows the aftermath of an Israeli strike on the main medical warehouse at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, which also shredded nearby tents sheltering displaced families.

“What did we do to deserve this?” Fatima Sharab said. Families believed conditions would improve, only to be awakened at 2 or 3 a.m. and ordered to flee.

The strike destroyed their tents, food, water, bedding, and the warehouse holding supplies for dialysis patients.

“What did we do wrong? What did we do to deserve this, us and the dialysis patients? Who among us is guilty?” Sharab said. “Today, we have no shelter.”

Umm Yahya Hassouna said her family of 12 fled barefoot and later spent more than five hours digging through the wreckage to recover food, clothes, or a mattress.

“Our fate? We don’t know. Destruction,” she said. “Our children are barefoot in the street… and we have nothing to feed our children.”
