If someone has committed domestic abuse in their life, that should be mentioned most especially by our national broadcaster. To not do so, while releasing endless fawning obituaries, is to be complicit in societal misogyny and the erasure of victims.

Exactly. This👇sums up everything about Gender Criticalism. Are we beginning to reach the point where more people are seeing it for what it really is?

Thirty-one councillors in Cornwall looked at this motion and said no. Some of the opposition was procedural: the safeguard already exists, so the motion does nothing useful. But the more substantive argument, the one made by Clir Garrigan and CIr Ewert, was moral: you do not single out one category of child for political override on medical decisions without a reason that applies equally elsewhere. Gender identity is not that reason.

The "gender critical" movement are not appealing their loss in their fight to stop the puberty blocker trial. The "irreversible harm" James is talking about here is people being trans. That's it. Helen Joyce said it clearly, even if trans people say they are happy they consider them to be "harmed."

We looked at every possible angle for appeal but do not believe the merits are there, given how extremely high thresholds involved. Make no mistake, the High Court judgment does not negate the irreversible harm that will be caused to children who take part in this trial. Thank you to everyone who supported us during this campaign and I’m sorry to not bring better news. I will continue to do whatever I can to stop this trial taking place and will be working with colleagues on alternative strategies over the coming weeks.

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. These fuckers really are vile bastards 😡😡

Russian media report that an urgent evacuation has begun in all towers of Moscow-City, which comprises around 20 skyscrapers. Elevators in the complex have been turned off, and people are being evacuated en masse. The reason for the evacuation has not yet been reported.
