For Movies Past And Present, host @stanfordclark.bsky.social and I say plenty of things that might upset MCU #SpiderMan fans. For example, how SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING tries to ape the comedies of John Hughes without understanding the interiority of the characters that makes those films so complex.👇

My friend @thegirlynerd.bsky.social and I say plenty of things about Sam Raimi's #SpiderMan trilogy that might make non-Raimi fans upset. For example, how Mary Jane Watson is one of the most three-dimensional love interests in a CBM, but you wouldn't know that if you're a toxic asshole.👇
My friend @thegirlynerd.bsky.social and I say plenty of things about Sam Raimi's #Spider-Man trilogy that might make non-Raimi fans upset. For example, how bright colors and dynamic camerawork help sell the idea of comic book aesthetics and action better than 99% of superhero films today.👇

I knew her as Dot from A BUG'S LIFE, as the little spitfire who could pick a fight with Denzel Washington in REMEMBER THE TITANS, and most importantly as Claire Bennett from HEROES ("Save the cheerleader, save the world!"). Damn, 36 is far too young. #RIP, Hayden.
