Law stuff, Maine, dogs, and parenting, not necessarily in that order. All views my own. If you want to hire me, here's my website: https://brannlaw.com/attorneys/eamonn-r-c-hart/

One of the funniest things about social media: It has created this weird mindset where people feel entitled to access. The number of people going "How dare (Celebrity) block me just because I called them an asshole and said they should be executed?" Without an ounce of introspection is hilarious.

Apparently there’s some kind of revival of interest in Homer which reminds me I saw him live in Thrace in 790BC I bet most of these posers can’t even name three of his epics

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

Key thing to understand about "remigration" is that it doesn't mean "send immigrants home." He's an immigrant, Peter Thiel is an immigrant, etc. It's not even a white nationalism project, it's a trans-Atlantic white continentalism project, nations themselves aren't important, only race matters.

Elon Musk, owner of X, has called the editor of the Economist "a traitor to the West, plain and simple" after her recent interview with him. He now argues that "anyone who opposes remigration is a traitor" Musk has been socialising violence since Aug25: "fight or die, that's what it comes down to"

Taylor farms , owned by a Trump donor, supplies bagged lettuce to *everywhere*. Taco bell did the right thing proactively, and they are getting all the blame. The blame lies with RFK period. Taco bell being the fall guy is crazy.

and i will note again that Wurman is a first generation immigrant from societies that are still struggling with democracy. on what basis does he get to claim that he has the capacity for self-governance? (we know the answer)

also spare me these crocodile tears. you signed up to defend a movement with an explicitly racialized vision of citizenship. lie down with dogs and you can’t complain that people think you have fleas.

The assumption in all of these manifestos and proclamations is that there is some kind of Final Settlement that can be made on contentious cultural issues that will remove them from the playing field entirely, and I will just say that I think that this is very, very unlikely.

At this point, it's basically a monthly thing where the NY Times has some boomer Dem write a piece saying the party should abandon trans people.

A screenshot of a digital article header under the category "OPINION / GUEST ESSAY". The headline reads in large white text: "Three Things Democrats Have to Do if They Actually Want to Win", with a publication date of "July 14, 2026, 5:05 a.m. ET". Below the headline is a photograph showing a blue, red, and silver softball or baseball bat secured diagonally to a white poster board using three pieces of silver duct tape. The background consists of out-of-focus green foliage.

Joan Sebastian Salguero, the 26-year-old husband & father killed by ICE today in Maine, was at least the 9th person killed by federal immigration agents, and at least the 22nd person shot, during the lawless regime of Donald Trump.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was a father of three who built houses in Houston, started his own business, and raised his family here for 35 years. His son became a teacher. ICE agents killed him in cold blood. 🧵

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
