Okay, speaking strictly from a Tolkien perspective, I take issue with the article's "Reagan opened the Gates of Mordor" analogy. The Gates of Cirith Ungol would be more accurate in this instance (albeit mostly because if anyone opened the Black Gate and the Pass of Cirith Gorgor, it was Cheney).

Like I was saying earlier, I'm glad Caped Crusader's gone back to the more serious, humorless Joker of the Golden Age. It's honestly a refreshing change of pace from the giggling maniacal madman we know, love, and hate nowadays.
