“THE INFINITE STATE is for the most part resolutely untroubled by current narrative or conceptual genre fashions” @niallharrison’s review of Richard Swan’s newest work

We are only one month out from getting back into the grit with another @richardswanauthor.bsky.social adventure into the cold frontier of Sova with Vonvalt and Bressinger! THE ANGUISHED EARTH releases on the 19th of October!

Next book on my nightstand is @richardswanauthor.bsky.social's Steel Gods, Book 2 in the Great Silence series which definitely has surprised me a couple times. - This series is a sequel to the world built in the Empire of The Wolf Trilogy, but does NOT require reading the original to follow along.

It didn’t look like a Party murder. Certainly, Cyprian hadn’t been told to expect one— and the Ministry of the Interior had a dedicated hotline for sanctioned political murders. Richard Swan. The Infinite State Nice, @richardswanauthor.bsky.social 😂

The Infinite State is an ambitious, character-driven sci-fi novel packed with political intrigue, excellent world-building, and themes of power, surveillance, and freedom. It’s a measured rather than action-heavy read, the payoff is worth it. @netgalley.bsky.social @richardswanauthor.bsky.social

While I mostly blog at PotsandPlots these days, I still do the odd review for @geekdad.twit.social.ap.brid.gy. I very much enjoyed @richardswanauthor.bsky.social's 'The Infinite State' geekdad.com/2026/08/the-... #booksky Many thanks to @torbooks.bsky.social for sending me a copy.

‘The Infinite State’ by Richard Swan: A Book Review

Richard Swan's 'Infinite State' is excellent dystopian fiction with echoes of the Star Wars orginal trilogy and shades of Andor.

Heh heh heh. They're mine! Mine! All mine! And we're blessed to be getting two novels from @richardswanauthor.bsky.social this year (after Steel Gods).

With THE INFINITE STATE, Richard Swan wisely lets his readers connect with interesting and relatable characters, all while living in a vast totalitarian galactic empire. The latest from @richardswanauthor.bsky.social just works. My review: fanfiaddict.com/review-the-i... @torbooks.bsky.social

The Infinite State is @richardswanauthor.bsky.social's scifi debut, set in an Orwellian galactic empire where newly widowed Katherine, wife to an esteemed member of the governing party, finds herself inheriting the means to begin resisting a dystopian fascist regime... Out 6/8! #SFF #Fascism 💙📚🪐
