A Very Happy New Year to everyone. In 2026 may we see an end to oppression and war.

Orthodox Christian. Trying to stand in a fallen world.
Someone is being extra photogenic today. Such a great pose.
Merry Christmas to everyone. May you have a day filled with love and family. Let there be peace on Earth.
Tonight, it's Arthur Christmas! But as a warm up it's That Christmas. Animated Christmas goodness from England.
Watching Love Actually. Any suggestions for other good Christmas rom-coms?
Time for my annual watch of Krampus. I need to find a good companion movie.
Finished the night with Gremlins. I always forget that it takes place around Christmas.
Watched Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. Really enjoyed it. Was very impressed how respectful Rian was of the Catholic faith.
Tonight is a Rankin & Bass mini-marathon. It begins with Santa Claus is Coming to Town, then Year Without a Santa Claus, next Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, and if there is time Frosty the Snowman.
My annual Public Service Announcement. Watch Arthur Christmas. A great film that needs to be better known.
Started my Christmas movie watching Miracle on 34th Street (1947). This is my 1st time. Great movie. Makes the annual list now. Also, watched The Thin Man (1934). Another first time watch. Functional alcoholism runs on both sides of my family. So not as fun as I hoped. Won't be watching it again.
Highly recommended for readable pop culture analysis about a wonderful movie: Ugh! As If!: Clueless by Veronica Litt amzn.to/4ijUwgf #sponlink
Ugh! As If!: Clueless (Pop Classics)
We are majorly, totally, butt-crazy in love with . In , Veronica Litt argues that this seemingly fluffy teen romp is the quintessential thinking woman’s movie, one in which audiences are asked to ...

Had a crazy dream last night where I restarted the Manga Moveable Fest. Some of the original reviewers were part of it as well as new reviewers. Hadn't thought about MMF in a very long time. Have no idea where this dream came from.
Okay, hear me out. A Lord of the Rings remake with these two taking the One Ring to Modor.
Just a reminder that I wrote a book on the history of the Yuri genre which was then published by the wonderful publisher @journeypress.bsky.social, which you should definitely buy and support us both! By Your Side: The First 100 Years of Yuri Anime and Manga www.yuricon.com/product/bys/
Ended Anime NYC by having dinner at Mitsuwa in Edgewater, NJ and took some great pics of the NYC skyline at night.
My very first post on Blue Sky is about cat manga. That feels right.
Picked this up at the @denpabooks.bsky.social booth at Anime NYC. It's Moto Hagio, so of course it's well drawn and well written. Most importantly she really understands cats. As a cat person myself, I really appreciated her humor and portrayal of Leo. Brilliant manga from a master of the form.
Rewatched Pixar's Soul, criminally neglected film. My favorite Pixar film. It's so profound, yet kind in its message. Truly an adult film. You have to have lived enough life and seen a dream or pass die to understand its message. I hope one day it will be recognized for the masterpiece it is.
Happy New Year. Let's work to make this a year of peace, grace, and hope.
If you feel depressed or hopeless, please reach out to a friend or a family member or call 988. There is a light that can shine through your darkness. We want to spend many more Christmases with you.
Merry Christmas! "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11 ESV) I pray that everyone on Earth has a wonderful day filled with love, laughter, and hope.
