I also read Wilson's critique and found that both enjoyable and insightful. It's not even really a bad review -- it's an incisive dissection from the POV of someone whose knives have long been sharpened on the material.
And good luck finding businesses to offer meaningful work experience to hundreds of thousands of 14 and 15 year olds. As ever a failure to acknowledge that our big challenge with vocational ed is our labour market.

This is why progressives are so bad at making policies that are popular: the inability to see the difference between theoretical outcome and practical implementation.
