Imagine what the comments to the proposed OMB rule would have looked like if this had come out two weeks ago.
NEW: In a stunning admission, the Trump administration admitted in court documents that it canceled billions in energy grants to states "based solely" on politics -- and whether that state was represented by Democrats and backed Harris in 2024. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/24/b...
If I confused pasta with alcohol then I'd be so drunk that I'd probably be as incoherent as this
Scalise: "For God's sake -- you can't get pasta at Olive Garden without a picture ID! Why not be able to show a picture ID to vote?"
I expect the AG to file for an injunction against this by the afternoon.

Good piece. Always listen to what the amazing Doran Schrantz has to say.

Maps are fine, but here's the real guide to answer the question, "Am I in Uptown?" 1) Is it where you want to be? (If so, you're in Uptown) 2) Is your mind free? (If so, you're in Uptown) 3) Is your body feeling hot? (If so, you're in Uptown) 4) Do you want to stop? (If so, you're not in Uptown)

Late to this, but a big thank-you to @ckronenberg.bsky.social and @peibich.bsky.social for hosting this year's Economics of Mental Health Workshop. It's a great meeting and I encourage anyone doing mental health economics work to attend!
Some delayed impressions from day 2. Lots of exciting research before @marcounipd.bsky.social gave an equally exciting second keynote. Finally, Alden Cheng won the best paper prize for an outstanding paper. @peibich.bsky.social, @univdauphine.bsky.social and Paris were excellent hosts.
This was my old cat. Her name was Paraguay. Congrats on advancing to the round of 16, Paraguay.
First day of the Economics of Mental Health Workshop in Paris. Grateful to all funders and the local host @peibich.bsky.social Impressed how people's brains are still functioning in 40°C. #EMHW26
