whenever I watch an anime that I can tell has influences outside of anime, it makes me feel more strongly about how animation is a MEDIUM and not a GENRE and when it is fully behaving as a genre, you have a problem

my wife has a friend who sent Dolly Parton a painting she made & a letter explaining how much Dolly's music meant to her while she was transitioning. Dolly responded to it personally & paid for her top surgery. Sounds like an urban legend but it's real. I think we're going to more stories like this.

PS. This morning, CBC radio approached us to ask if Jenn would like to speak about the impact of tariffs on small, Canadian business. If you'd like to tune in, we're estimating the show will air around 8am EST tomorrow (Aug 25th). Listen, here: www.cbc.ca/listen/live-...

Haven't shared here in a bit but I ended up with two new dolls over the last few months. One is a Resinsoul 1/6 Wei, who I fell in love with because of her dainty fingers and tiny claw like nails. And a Missmian Laila who has been a grail doll since I saw her last December. 1/2

Okay, you guys seem interested in this so I'll just make it live now. Here's why it's probably true that Harry Potter fans convinced a contractor to reroute a power cable, despite a lot of people really wanting it to be false www.patreon.com/rebecca/post...

Best Z Chinese food. A little place next to St Clair station that I discovered too late was absolutely fantastic and incredibly well priced. I ate there a handful of times before it closed, and insult to injury that space has been vacant for nearly a decade - they never filled it after the reno.

I don't want to hear about your lost loves, tell me about the restaurant food that haunts you because you'll never be able to taste it again

Seeing this after posting about finally using a cane this year had me seething with rage. Reading comments elsewhere, with people playing oneupmanship of "my queer coworkers keep getting more and more intense aids, they're competing! It's all a farce!" 1/2

In a move that will surprise absolutely no one who's been paying attention, Stock has decided that women with disabilities are suffering from "social contagion"

A times column header beneath a picture of Kathleen Stock: " KATHLEEN STOCK
Why are young women using walking sticks?
A disproportionate number of Gen Z females are affected by vague syndromes and may be victims of social contagion"

“sex purge” is obviously a stupid idea and also obviously exactly the kind of stupid idea that is incredibly fun to sit down and think through to its many illogical conclusions and I really don’t understand why they apparently didn’t wouldn’t that be 90% of the fun of the writer’s room?

This is one of those rare movies that appears to have no target demographic whatsoever. But yeah, it's *fascinating* how the director seems to be completely unable to sit down and go "why is this" to the point that he seems to actively resent the idea that he should think through his premise.

"These characters are living this little alternative world that could easily happen. We have to talk about it." But also stop talking about it, and what even do you mean "could easily happen" the whole convo is on how insane it would be to try to enforce...

this article is really funny but not in the way the director intended it to be. why do people care so much about the rules of the world that I created, just because it doesn't make any sense? everyone is a prude these days

People have asked me of the frog union. There are three things you must understand: 1. I love frogs. Like, really, really love frogs. Like "got a herpetology degree" love frogs. 2. I love Disney. 3. I love Disney World because it combines these things so well.

One of the best things I have done for myself is buy a cane. It was such a big mental hurdle and yet when I need it, it's made such a huge difference. This weekend being a huge one, where I doubt I would have been able to enjoy the cottage if I didn't have it. Also Bluewater beach is stunning.
