British Airways telling me I can't check in online… this always makes me anxious that I've been overbooked. But Reddit tells me it’s just to check if I've got a UK passport or done an ETA (there's no place to enter advanced passenger info). I hope Reddit is right!

Online forms refuse to submit because a phone number has the spaces in the wrong place; and my computer refuses to print because it "cannot see printer" even though it’s where it always was, the same plugs as always plugged in. And yet AI will kill us all in 10 years? Rightey ho.
To those implying that Kremlin-controlled social media bot/troll farms became silent after Ukraine hit a Yandex data center, posting this CloudFare chart ( radar.cloudflare.com/bots/as13238 ): Hate to disappoint you all ⤵️
The German start up helping cities clean the air by swapping out dirty old diesel bus engines for electric. Hampered of course by typical German what-aboutery Via @lazycuttlefish.bsky.social
Elektrobusse: Und zack ist der Dieselbus sauber
Ein Start-up in Erfurt elektrifiziert Dieselbusse. Das ist deutlich günstiger als ein neuer E-Bus. Doch die Verkehrsunternehmen zögern. Wieso?

"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!" Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.
My street has both sides closed to parking today so they can prune the trees. Supposed to start at 7am. It’s now 10.30 and they're still waiting for a tow truck to take away cars which ignored the signs. First police have to come, who call a truck, which takes them away, one by one. Takes hours!
What’s the evidence on rent control? I charted the findings from 112 studies: Great for rent-controlled tenants ✅ But: Pushes up rents for other people ❌ Pushes down new housing construction ❌ Pushes down building quality ❌
Has @theguardian.com started using AI to write their headlines? The last few I've read in my feed are really weird and don’t quite make sense
Facebook Messenger does this weird thing when someone tells you their phone number in a message, it reformats it into US style, so (for example) +49 6789 1234567 is shown as +496 (789)123-4567 🤪
Meta's "Muse" launched with a nasty zero day flaw that gave hackers the ability to spy on Mac users, openly gives root access to people pretending to be Muse agents, and invited strangers over to another guy's house without telling him

The sound of Saturday night light entertainment, That's Life was a superb mix of silliness and seriousness. It led to the setting up of Childline, the first phone service for children in trouble or danger, mixed with dogs that say "sausages"

Marathon day ❤️ Maybe, one day, I will too 🏃😊 #runner #berlin #berlinmarathon #urbanphotography #blueskyphotography #fujifilm
Marathon day in Berlin means lots of roads closed. And it means I can safely cross the road to my favourite bakery without taking my life into my own hands!
For pescetarians – see, you've thought about DEI already, good for you – consider bringing several whole fish, which you can gut, simply dress, charcoal grill and serve to the hungry panel just before the interview. During the interview would be bad form.
Whatever you do, don't smoke an entire brisket at a job interview, it's a lot of equipment to bring in, it takes a really long time to do it right and those conference rooms have notoriously poor ventilation

Obviously you'd never vote AfD, but in case you were looking for reasons to absolutely never vote CDU, here's one. Turns out CDU is happy to vote with the Nazis after all. No comment in the article about why.
AfD, CDU ban new Holocaust 'stumbling stones' in Heidenau
Activists, politicians and representatives of Holocaust victims reacted with anger after the center-right CDU party joined forces with the AfD to ban new Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) in the easter...

This is why we need Pride. Because for the second time, someone’s destroyed the rainbow bench which was installed as a memorial to the victims of the CSD van attack. Police are investigating, just like last time. LGBT people should join together and be proud, and resist the cowardly attacks.
Seems Telegram now charges a 1.39€ "SMS fee" for all fresh installations, even if you already have an account. If your old device is still active, you should be able to get it to send it a code instead of SMS, but that's not worked in months, so they'll take your € anyway.
@celesteheadlee.bsky.social Hi, I can't reply to your post about Banksy's yacht, but you know the content is stolen from an article from the Guardian from 6 years ago? It's good news, but not new news :)

Trump has such a whiney voice. Every time the BBC plays his voice, I want to throw rotten tomatoes at my speaker. How can anyone have voted for someone who sounds so annoying?
ExcuseMeSorryWhatPardon. Republicans tried to HURT the election chances of this <checks notes> superhot gay marine veteran, by publishing his youthful risqué photos, and he is standing as a Dem for Congress in <checks notes again> New York? 😂😂😂 I reckon this translates into a ten-point poll bump.
I'm starting to see some (too many) big US trucks on Berlin's streets. They're obscenely large, they generally don't fit in parking spaces, and the people who drive them are generally unqualified to do so. As in, they're mostly really bad drivers.
The European Union is tightening the regulatory backdoor through which US automakers have been quietly importing around 7k large SUVs and pickup trucks/year. “The revised rules, expected to launch in 2027, are designed to close loopholes that Brussels says allow unsafe vehicles onto European roads.”
@deborahcole.bsky.social just read your report. Nice… I bet you were busy the last few days! Curious though by the "expropriation of landlords" is so often framed as though it's a Linke idea, rather than as fulfilling a long ignored Volksentscheid?
This makes me happy. Voting matters. Car loving CDU and and straight right arm loving AfD not even close to winning.
@chrisward.de I saw this and thought of you. Honestly can't see myself ever voting Lib Dem again. I thought they were nice :/
Ed Davey, speaking later on the BBC, is invited about three times by Laura Kuenssberg to say that asylum seekers do not pose a greater proportional threat to women than men in general. He does not.
It's election day in Berlin, and anyone German or EU aged 16 or over can vote. Do it now to keep the AfD as far from power as possible!
