I'd have to say the whole Atari 2600 system set the path. Favorites were Moon Patrol, Jr. Pac-Man, Galaga, Asteroids, Missile Command, River Raid, and Yar's Revenge (boy, a lot of space games). From there Nintendo continued the habit.

As an American political historian, I can confirm that this Congress has been "almost unmatched in history" in several categories -- sad abdication of its war powers, craven surrender of the power of the purse, weird refusal to conduct meaningful oversight, and an utter failure to pass actual laws.

As cassette tapes are fashionable again, I'm finding I wouldn't mind having a portable player again. Some of the best money I ever spent as a teenager was on a Sony Sports Walkman, just like the image here. It latched tight, had long battery life, and was just satisfying overall.

For me, America would be "great again" if it were the early to mid 1980s, coincidentally when I was a child and perceived reality with a relatively accepting and uncritical innocence.
I dreamed last night that I had a girlfriend and we were with her older sister. The sister was smoking weed and while taking a huge hit turned into my wife, who ended up having a coughing fit, soon-after throwing up. I woke at that point and the clock read 4:20. I haven't begun to process this.
