Remember when we said auto layout was coming to Sketch? It’s here. It’s called Stacks, and it’s part of our biggest release ever — out now. There’s a lot to cover, so buckle up and we’ll take you on a tour. Also, stick around for a surprise at the end of the thread. 👀 Let’s go ↓
Very excited to watch valley bros explain how stealing models is bad but stealing books to train models is absolutely fine.
Command Bar is a big improvement to your workflow and we're already supercharging it. In here @bxtr.me navigates through the dev and design challenges of bringing components into the command bar. 18 minutes, yes, but full of valuable interaction design lessons, watch it :)
Since our Stacks sneak peek went down so well, we asked @bxtr.me to give you another! This time, it’s some big improvements to inserting and swapping Components using the Command Bar. Some are in beta now, the rest are coming soon Full details on the forum: skt.ch/ZqNp0l4 youtu.be/Ypwq9Tn2nGg
What are we doing in 2025 at @sketch.com? Right in the first months, you can expect: - Stack Layout (Framer are the OG on stack/auto-layout, so w believe calling it stacks fitting) - Frames (well, same reasoning as above, figma nailed the implementation)
So what did we do in 2024? Or is it what we're doing in 2025? Definitely check this out, full of of greatness from our dear team at @sketch.com
What did we do in 2024? We asked @rafa.design (and a few friends) to show what we shipped… and… well… enjoy!
Wanted to do a Sketch Wrapped but remembered we don’t track what you do in your documents. So here I am making it all up. I reckon this is probably all of you.
💎 Update on the status of Auto-Layout in @sketch.com, excellent forum post by @paulo.is, thoughts appreciated
ICYMI, we’ve been working on stack layout — our take on auto/flex layout. It’s shaping up nicely! Here’s a sneak peek from @paulo.is. Full update (and details of what else is coming) over on our forum: forum.sketch.com/t/sneak-peek...
We’re working a stack layout feature for @sketch.com, and while we still have lots to do, here’s a sneak peek from yours truly: youtu.be/wK_OXZxakPQ Particularly pleased with how we’ve repurposed the existing alignment actions to override cross-axis alignment on items.

Mastered hackery to create easy access to a new mini I'm using as a home server: – Dock folder with custom icon & fan display – AppleScript tied to a shortcut for folder contents display – Automator/Shortcuts/Webloc ‘apps’ to trigger actions
Congrats to our #MadeWithSketch friends at @halideapp.bsky.social @tripsy.app and @viditb.bsky.social (along with all the other nominees) for their 2024 App Store nominations!
Our community forum @sketch.com has been running for a while now, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how engaged and helpful everyone has been. If this is the first time you're hearing of it, feel free to pop in! → forum.sketch.com

Decided to use the novel opportunity of having a nice social network and share a selection of icons I've been working on recently. Keep your eyes peeled if you're into that sort of thing.
✨ Meet Vellum, my new app. Vellum lets you use an image as a guide when taking a new photo. It's perfect for your before/after shots, tracking progress over time (think physique, renovations, and so on), or keeping your grid consistent. apps.apple.com/ca/app/vellu...
Game UI is forever cursed to not have its own award category despite literally every game requiring it, but being niche enough as a discipline that who would we even trust to jury for it
After seeing some simple icons for Illustrator and Photoshop by @mantia.bsky.social I decided to make some of my own. Recently @mmarfil.com showed of the new the new @sketch.com tinted icon for iOS using the app’s mono icon/logo, which inspired me to make a simplified Mac icon for my dock.
Designers! Marcelo's guide/tips on how to handle tinted app icons for iOS is a must read, go read it :)
Oh no, I need to design a tinted iOS 18 app icon — how to do it right
Tinted app icons in iOS 18 were met concerns over visual hierarchy and brand identity. Here are a few tricks we used to make ours work and feel at home.

Got off my call with Reddit just now about the API. Bad news unless I come up with 20 million dollars (not joking). Appreciate boosts. https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/13ws4w3/had_a_call_with_reddit_to_discuss_pricing_bad/
This week in coffee: Colombian gesha from Daisy Acevedo, roasted by the fantastic La Cabra (Denmark). My second gesha this year, and this one is really good, nicely balanced acidity, a lot of personality! What you drinking?
What's your approach to the bird and the mammoth site? We crosspost? You just skeet?
This actually feels nice, sign up was easy, domain setup was easy, and the most important, finding people was easy!
