Rare books at @theulspeccoll.bsky.social, frogs in my garden, medieval nuns. These are a few of my favourite things. Went viral with a biscuit found in a copy of Augustine.

A long shot: is anyone currently doing research at the Biblioteca Nacional del Perú in Lima? I'm trying to track down two seventeenth-century single-sheet printed broadsides. I'd be very grateful to connect. Thanks! #earlymodern

Blessed by a visit from the disco-est of caterpillars, a privet hawk moth. Check out those chonky little legs 😍 also a pic of its grandparent I found in the garden a couple of years ago. You don’t expect to feel the weight of a moth but they are *big*.

Last week the posy I brought home from the garden had a chrysalis attached though I didn't notice till I got home. If you, like me, haven't watched a butterfly emerge you won't be prepared for how amazing or how long emergence takes #TinyJoys a 🧵

Have been waiting 2 hours at birchanger services for RAC to send “a local mobile tyre engineer” to sort the flat that has arrived at the worst possible time. He appears to be coming from a company based in Edgware.
