It may not be surprising, but it's nevertheless sad to see a Canadian newspaper trumpet Washington's call to demolish the #ICC, and siding with impunity for Putin, Netanyahu, and the Taliban. This is now part of the right's firmament, along with anti-trans politics and Residential School denialism.
Canadian Ellie Black is the first gymnast, man or woman, to win two Commonwealth Games all-around titles. Her longevity in the sport is incredible. She’s beloved by teammates, competitors and fans. And she’s made more history for Canada.

The Minister has repeatedly stated that this Bill would provide gardaí with the power to compel a person to remove a face covering but after the completion of pre-legislative scrutiny and Dáil debate, and on the day of the final Seanad debate. The minister has published amendments to do this!

Ireland is poised to give An Garda Síochána expanded powers to use AI to analyse biometric data. The Garda Síochána (Recording Devices) (Amendment) Bill 2025 is set to pass in the Seanad today, the penultimate stage before signing into law by the President.

Yesterday, An Garda Síochána announced the extension of the taser pilot to the end of the year, and expansion to Limerick. Statistics show that tasers have only been used 15 times during the pilot, raising serious questions about whether the introduction of tasers is warranted in Irish policing.
