Books, music, a quiet pint, #bylinetimes

I keep reading that 'nobody should be forced to pay for the BBC'. Meanwhile, I'm forced to pay for the royal family, nuclear weapons, religiously-affiliated schools and the House of Lords.

Refuk, Restore and the Tories all desperately trying to out-fash each other. They're already at the 'getting the Marines to murder unarmed civilian asylum seekers in the Channel' stage. How much further will they have sunk before the next GE?

They push and push and push with the boot on your neck to embrace the the slop engine that will put you out of work. Then have the galls to go on TV and complain about people being on benefits.

These AI companies and the useful idiot politicians enabling them are sneering at you with contempt. All they will do is create noise, pollute local areas, drain water and make more money for yankie billionaires who will use these to put millions out of work to cut the bottom line.

Defence minister Luke Pollard explains that Saudi Arabia are our friends. Saudi Arabia has been committing war crimes in Yemen for years (like bombing a school bus in 2018 & killing more than 40 children). Thats who we're friends with.

What a waste of police time 😡 what the hell are we doing with an Israeli arms company in this country ??? Send them packing , we don't want them here 😡

'“No journalist should have to weigh the risk of arrest against their duty to inform the public. If reporters cannot cover protests freely, the public is left in the dark about events it has a right to know about."'

'Press advocacy group Reporters Without Borders said in a statement that it was “deeply concerned to hear of the arrest of journalists covering a protest in Leicester, particularly given they had identified themselves as such to police.”'

'“Multiple journalists including myself were arrested under section 13 of the Terrorism Act for going to work,” he wrote. “An officer told me that I would be de-arrested as soon as I gave my details despite identifying myself as a journalist with a press card.'

"Police in Leicester arrested at least five journalists under the Terrorism Act while they were reporting on a protest outside a drone factory owned by an Israeli arms company... Those arrested included two reporters for the Leicester Gazette and three freelance photojournalists."

Andy Burnham: “If she is saying she is happy with the status quo, she is in a minority in this country. People know Britain can do better than this." 🚨 Burnham is right: the public is unhappy with our current relationship with the EU. In fact, 628 out of 632 constituencies now want EU membership.
