“C’mon, little mouse,” she mutters, watching the robot spin in confused circles, its bristles endlessly swiping over the same spot. “No? You need another recalibration?” The second round of adjustments yields much better results. Mouse still struggles to navigate narrow areas, like the gap between the kitchen island and the cabinets, but whirrs across the open floor in perfectly straight lines. Ben enters the kitchen while she’s tidying up the tools and wire clippings strewn across the spot where they usually eat, keeping one eye on the little vacuum’s progress across the slate tiles. He also eyes it curiously. “I thought the roomba wasn’t working.” “Mouse needed a little attention, but now he’s doing just fine.” Rey sweeps the wire clippings into her hand and dumps them in the trash. The robot bumps against the cabinet next to her, makes a 120-degree turn, and trundles off again. Ben raises an eyebrow. “Mouse?” “Oh. Um, because he’s small and gray and vacuums up crumbs. And he sort of has little whiskers on the sides.” She gestures at the bristles poking out from under the chassis. The crinkles at the corners of Ben’s eyes deepen. “I see.”

I just picked up my copy of A LATTE LIKE LOVE and it’s 💕 beautiful 💕! @michelle-c-harris.bsky.social, even my cat wants to read about Audrey and Theo (she heard there’s cuddling, though I think she might not like the shower scene nearly as much as I do). 🩷☕️

will I ever be able to get Daisy's face right? doubt it. It's her, but it's not her. but it passes. but it could be more accurate. but then, it's stylised and it's not supposed to be her cause it's supposed to be the character, but then again- anyway, WIP! :D I'm cooking.
