I used to be annoyed that Final Fantasy XIII tucks all its lore away in a menu instead of weaving it into exposition, but the more I think about it, the more I think that was the right choice. The whole game is about characters who have no idea what's going on. They don't even KNOW the lore.

Try your best to focus on what you can control, instead of what you can't. Your decisions, what you're paying attention to, and most importantly what the emotions you're feeling *mean*. Emotions aren't inherently positive or negative. Try to frame them in a way that does you good.

Personally, I totally agree, and it's the major reason I'm glad Nintendo is still thriving. If they weren't, I'd have been down to almost exclusively playing indie/retro games a long time ago.
