I haven’t read the piece so I’m not going to back it or critique it but I will just note Alex Pretti ended up dead and nothing changed near term. Doesn’t change my view of him (he was a hero) but feels relevant as a way to evaluate efficacy.

Things were better when politicians were smart but pretended to be stupid in order to get votes. Now that the people in charge are actually stupid, things are much worse.
