The Caphe Roasters J Street Sando is one of the best egg sandwiches I’ve ever had. And I’ve had many excellent ones. Their coffee drinks are special as well. A must stop when you are in Philly. Plan accordingly tho. They are mobbed on weekends.

Jon is brilliant but even he missses the point here. Trump attacks reporters when he doesn't want to answer the question. He knows the attack will generate a story (he's fine with that) and no one will hear about or remember the question. Case in point right here. He's talking about the attack.

Kaitlan Collins on Trump's verbal attacks: "It's really not about me, and I don't want it to be about my reaction. ... In those moments it's important to put the reminder back on the work, on the question, and on the non-answers that we get." @kaitlancollins.bsky.social

<sigh>I wish there were more questions about the false premise we went to war for (imminent nuclear bomb) or at least the ever changing rationales. It’s gotten completely forgotten in the day to day coverage of on again off again bombing. How do you get out if you can’t agree why you went in?

Kennedy: "I don't think we ought to just cut and run. If we can stand the pain of the rising cost of energy, we need to stay the course at least for a few more months."

Do I have this right? Some AI companies built their models by feeding them every available piece of content without always compensating content owners, but are now upset that Chinese AI companies are building their models by distilling output from their AI. hmm. www.cnbc.com/2026/07/25/h...

From Silicon Valley to DC, the tech world is suddenly obsessed with one concept in AI: Distillation

Distillation has long been a topic for AI wonks, but it's become a hot-button issue of late as techies and lawmakers debate how it should be regulated.

I lived near Herndon, VA 20+ years ago. Back then, there was a little Mexican place that sold simple breakfast tacos to-go. Flour tortilla, eggs, potatoes, cheese. They made them by the dozens and there'd be a stack waiting so you could walk in and grab some. Delicious. We still talk about them.

I went to grad school at UT Austin so am steeped in TexMex. Why have breakfast tacos not made it outside of Texas? It's not rocket science. Why is there not a TacoDeli in every city?? Hrumph.

So, after discussing this with folks, our reckless speculation is now that Fetterman will run as an independent. This committee has me wondering if the R's would consider NOT running a candidate to maximize his chances. (Clearly they'd like him to switch parties...)

Sign of the times. Every Dem I know here in PA thinks he's a disaster. This joint committee lets big Republican donors put money into his campaign without him having to solicit it directly (McCormick does that part). R's working hard here to keep his vote.. www.inquirer.com/politics/pen...

Democrat John Fetterman launches cross-aisle fundraising committee with Republican Dave McCormick

Fetterman has repeatedly dismissed speculation that he could switch parties in the future after siding with Republicans on major votes.
