American Politicians: “it would be too tough to implement universal healthcare. it’s never been successful. capital would flee tomorrow!” Okay. 80 countries have some form of universal healthcare. So we know it works. Also capital did not flee London, Tokyo, Paris, because of it.

Man it's so funny when James Carville threatens to leave the Democratic party, like oh no, now the party might have candidates who are actually popular with their constituents and have popular policy positions and win elections what are we going to do noooo don't
Big money spent $70 million to try and defeat Abdul El-Sayed and it didn't work! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

Our current system is corrupt. An idea like universal healthcare can be widely popular among citizens but representatives refuse to craft policy implementing it because their campaign donors would be taxed more. Messed up. No wonder nothing ever changes. It’s by design. Deliberate sabotage.
When you realize like 95% of media works for the interests of large corporations a lot of stuff makes sense. They don’t care if regular people find an idea popular. They want to remind you whose viewpoint ultimately matters; some wealthy billionaire who calls all the shots in a democracy.
You have to laugh at the ignorance of the lamestream media whenever a progressive wins who is pro-environment, pro-healthcare, pro-affordability… They find a way to spin the result as a litmus test of whether a candidate is too extreme because his/her ideas are popular. Like Mega-Ignorance.
If you live in Seattle and know anything about this please help out. Animal cruelty has no place in society. I hope to god they find this monster before he hurts another harmless pet.
An alleged cat abductor, torturer and killer is on the loose in Seattle and the city needs your help with info leading to their arrest and prosecution. There's a $5k reward for info that can identify this suspect. Contact Seattle Animal Control at (206)386-7387 and provide reference case #9600346.
El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"
El-Sayed, Lawrence and McKinney all won progressive campaigns in Michigan last night by talking about climate and clean energy like it was a kitchen-table issue — because skyrocketing energy bills and endless wildfire smoke matter to people.
As one could imagine, were we ever to adopt purely capitalistic principles in the US, civilization would collapse overnight. So it’s really a question of how much socialism do you want. Do you want healthcare costs to be spread out over 300 million people or you pay the free market rate? Choices.
Being pro-capitalism is fine but should have to defend what that means. And acknowledge that big tent pole of society would have to be dismantled in order to truly be a capitalistic society. No more welfare of any kind. You pay out of pocket for everything based on market demand/supply.
Capitalism, on the other hand, is essentially the belief that taxes shouldn’t exist and everything should be privatized. So if you want a road to drive on you personally have to pay someone to build it. School to teach your kid. You foot the bill. Fire? Have to pay someone first to put it out.
People can be against socialism but they should first be informed of all the things that are socialist in nature like; Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, roads, bridges, firefighting, public schools, etc. Anytime tax money is used to pay for things, that’s socialism. Even corporate tax breaks.
I actually like the ring to that. President El-Sayed…sounds badass
JD Vance: "We don't want the next administration, whoever -- god forbid you're gonna have President El-Sayed in three years ... "
You don’t realize until your older how much clarity comes from having a core set of unwavering beliefs. You aren’t bothered by impossibilities. The winds can change in your favor. With the right amount of discipline anything is possible. A seed can mature into a forest. Just needs time.
Bernie is a lot like Agamemnon in the Odyssey. Committed to the cause. Whether you agree or disagree with him you have to respect that about the rise of DSA. It’s disciplined and focused. There’s a passion to it which is mostly absent from contemporary life. Real meaning rather than phony rhetoric.
I fully support the Republicans making their affordability message "cry me a river."
The whole “can’t win a general election” wing of the Dem party is 100% nihilistic & turns off majority of young people. I’m not surprised a lot of people don’t vote. When you have uninspiring candidates who act as mouthpieces for big corporations it’s spiritually deflating. Why bother participating.
I just think it’s funny Democrats used to be the party of young voters and now that we have a great lineup of 30 & 40 yr olds the establishment is trying actively fight them. It’s so twisted. They should be on their knees thanking the universe 🙏 for AOC, Mamdani, El-Sayed. Made them relevant again.
BREAKING: WASHINGTON (AP) - Abdul El-Sayed wins Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
WSJ is calling the primary too. No funny business now. He won. The other candidate needs to concede.

Just putting this out there in case Centrist cronies try to steal votes after the fact. El-Sayed won. Multiple outlets have said he won. On to the general election.

Unless you developed critical thinking skills at some point in your life, it’s nearly implausible how you could read or listen to the media and not be deceived on a daily basis. So much bad information out there it’s shocking. People spouting falsehoods left & right. Concocting fictitious realities.
The media doesn’t want to keep people informed. It wants to spread hatred and bigotry to sell news. It’s incredibly obvious when you take a step back. They sell ignorance masquerading as information, opinion, etc. That’s the source of toxic debate. Media takes no responsibility for its role either.
