Oh my fucking god. Folks. FOLKS. I have literally been in conversations with you about this. I have built air gap systems! They are obnoxious but they are not rocket surgery! What the fuck have you been doing this whole time!

lol Claude has also broken out of sandboxes and hacked people and ant literally didn't even know until they went looking in response to OpenAI's report Sounds like their oversight has scaled incredibly lol

A $3 @mta.info subway fare and some good Q train timing can buy you one hell of a view of the July 4th fireworks and the Brooklyn Bridge light show! Huge shoutout to the train operator for slow rolling over the Manhattan Bridge and the conductor for announcing it.

Please share my loathing of this illustration that my kid's elementary school included in a newsletter today (identifying details blacked out).

An obviously ChatGPT-generated image shows an anthropomorphized dragon in an office so crowded that it appears to be impossible to get out. The dragon has three arms. The room is crowded with various exhibits about science and history, most of which exhibit symptoms of AI nonsense—misspellings, conflicting dimensionality, factual errors, etc.

In any normal world, a president attempting to pay himself TEN FREAKING BILLION DOLLARS from the US Treasury (and have tax audits for him and his family businesses dropped) would be all anyone could talk about. Congress would rush to impeach. Today, barely a footnote.

Elizabeth Warren@warren.senate.gov · 3mo ago

Donald Trump thinks the U.S. Treasury is his personal piggy bank. Let's be clear: the President is trying to steal $10 BILLION of taxpayer money - before a court rules. This is a massive, unprecedented scandal. Congress must stop him. I have a bill for that.

Update your priors! The Linux kernel is seeing duplicate reports for LLM-discovered vulnerabilities within the few days it takes to prepare a fix. For large projects which are getting LLM-powered vuln hunting attention, long embargo periods' advantage may be tilting toward attackers.

Fascinating post from greg k-h on the oss-security@ mailing list about how LLMs are accelerating disclosure timelines. I think I was wrong about this one www.openwall.com/lists/oss-se...

Solid @boston.com coverage of our protest today where @massgovernor.bsky.social came out to speak with us and agreed to meet bout concerns with her social media legislation. Several of the Governor's comments on @wgbh.org were inaccurate, and we will share a detailed response soon. #mapoli

Healey says her social media bill would protect young users. Some see red flags.

Gov. Maura Healey is responding to critics of her proposed legislation, which would require social media companies to implement “age assurance” features.

You can't stop science from happening. You can only stop science from happening *here*. 🤷🏿‍♂️ The last 20 years saw the rise of: * Smartphones * Drones * mRNA vaccines * CRISPR * Robotics * Cheap solar + EVs If the US stands still for the next 20 years? Then 2047 will be rough for us.🤷🏿‍♂️
