Chiroptera Press, Ligotti's primary publisher these days, gave us all a gift for his birthday: the news that he's working on a new collection of stories, likely to be published next year, his first new book of fiction in over 10 years.

Facebook post from Chiroptera Press, who seem not to be on Bsky: "We’d like to wish a Happy Birthday to one of the greatest writers of horror fiction, Thomas Ligotti. For those who would be curious to know, Tom has been doing very well and over the past year has been putting his pen to work. Sometime next year we will see his first major collection since The Conspiracy Against the Human Race and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We can’t say much about the contents as of now, other than this will be his most personal work to date. Wishing peace and a relaxing day to a legend!"

If your publisher uses AI art, they're bad at their job. Full stop. When a publisher claims they can't afford to invest in your cover art, what they're really saying is that they can't sell your book. /THREAD O'CLOCK

I'm pretty floored that I seem to have won a Bram Stoker Award for First Novel! 😱 Thank you to everyone who voted for The October Film Haunt, and congratulations to all the winners and nominees. What a ballot and what a horror community!

THE CORPSE PRIEST has been out for one month and I couldn't be happier with how many people picked it up. Sales are kind of a dirty word in the indie book sphere, but I thought it might be fun and informative to be a little transparent about where these sales came from and how. /THREAD

One of the big inspirations for Rachael in Crawl Space was myself, or at least my career, but we'll get to that soon. First, I wanted to talk about archaeology. Archaeology is a big tent profession. There are lots of different disciplines that are part of archaeology 1/10
