Not at all surprising that there will apparently be a major protest against #Myanmar military junta chief Min Aung Hlaing when he comes to #Bangkok tomorrow. Protest will be in front of the United Nations office, starting at 13:00. Thai officials should let the protest proceed w/o interference!

I'm on a bit of a Timor Leste tear at the moment and it doesn't matter how many of these books I crack through, the scale of what individuals, families and the whole country went through for decades always gets me. I want to go back so bad.

Malls all over Jakarta have erected enormous fences recently. This is a big time for protests typically, but we haven't really seen that buildup happening — which is leading to some conspiratorial thinking all over the internet. Everything feels very through the looking glass lately. Getting weird.

How's this cool snap of then-ambassador Major General Kosasih and second sec H Sumo leaving the Canberra Mosque in 1966. I just learnt the mosque in Yarralumla is the second oldest continuously used mosque in Australia and was set up by the Indonesian, Pakistani and Malaysian missions in 1960

I think, in addition to the cuts to operating hours for the suburban hubs, the budget for new acquisitions at ACY Libraries has been cut? It's getting very difficult to find brand new releases or get on the list prior to release for so many Australian books? And when they do come in, only one copy

Something I've really enjoyed telling people this week: one of my units this semester has only six readings for the whole run. A BA in 2006 is worth two in 2026.

Often I watch an old episode of Law and Order and the flat is clearly meant to be seen by the viewer as a shithole but it's always better than mine 😔 oh, this fella murdered a grocery store clerk for drug money AND he's got two bedrooms?
