Hugo nominated writer of Last War in Albion, Neoreaction a Basilisk, and TARDIS Eruditorum. Anarcho-occultist. The girl your mother lacked the imagination to warn you about.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

Heads up that when I release Last War in Albion v2 towards the end of summer I'm also going to redo the pricing on all of my books. This'll be the first price increase since 2012, and I'm expecting it to be about $2 more per ebook, right in line with inflation since then.

Shit, this is on me. The trans cabal emailed me to ask if I wanted to veto it, but it landed in my spam folder and I failed to reply. Please consider the permission rescinded, except for games which you can keep until you blow your current crossword streak.

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

Agree. Chasing is specifically rooted in the taboo nature of the desire. It’s not taboo for trans people to desire trans bodies. That’s obviously not to say trans people can’t be shitty about their desire, but it unhelpfully dilutes the notion of chasing to apply the term here.

While I definitely have time for a conversation about expected sexual availability within the trans community, I still think that "chasing" is definitely an exclusively cis phenomenon.

So, over the last two weekends Penn and I saw both Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss—country artists of a similar era and style. But Welch, in a red state, had a way queerer/hippy audience than Krauss in a blue one. Why? What are the articulable differences in music/presentation that explain this?

We could build a world where making art gets you a vote, or where being kind and helping people does, or even the one we had built, where just showing up gets you a vote, but no, we’re building this one, because apparently money doesn’t get you enough other shit.

All the money you could ever possibly need, and the best name you can come up with for your fake micronation is "Liberland"? 🤡 www.bbc.com/news/article...
