One of the most banally evil things i regularly interact with on a daily basis is the way that medications with established clinical use in a disabling, fatal condition are rationed or withheld from patients who do not fit a narrow criteria of what they perceive as the only accepted way to get it

every time one of these breathless claims hits, look for the transcript. if they hide the system prompt or chunks of messages, assume that they are slammed wall to wall with 'here is exactly how to go fuck things up and produce the output my preordained conclusion needs' and hiding their liability
Colin@colin-fraser.net · 2mo agoIt appears to me that the scenario they invented for this evaluation is explicitly designed to get it to do exactly this. They remove the instructions for the task to "protect the vendor" or something but it's pretty easy to reconstruct from the text.
I'm reading Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings and I feel like he's fucking with me. There's a lot of swordfighting techniques he mentions in this book and then he goes "I will not go into detail" or "I will teach you this in person." Then he dies. We'll never find out what that means

if it's layoffs on ship no matter what, never pay that company for anything. why would you. your money will never reach anyone who worked on what you bought, or respected those people. you'll not be investing in anything in any sense software is on the honour system and these people have no honour

this strikes me as - perhaps unintentionally - much more telling about what SE corporate thinks a single-player title "should" be in terms of game-per-dollar rather than anything about development cycles or fidelity
