I keep meaning to stream myself going through the permissioned spaces spec, but I first need to fix my OBS and that's two whole levels of "having it together enough" more than I have 😭 can't believe OBS is my "technology invented after you're 35 is against the natural order of things"

Standard Reader reads comics now. It works out which publications are comics on its own (based on the content and publication settings). They get a shelf of covers instead of a list of pages, and open in a full-screen reader that runs the whole publication as one continuous book.

More: - CBOR or JSON is an implementation choice. But: - Whose PDS stores the data is a governance question. - Which services can write there is a governance question. - Who can delegate that authority is a governance question. - How an AppView decides what it returns is a governance question.

An """engineering""" question: - Do we use CBOR or JSON to represent records? Not an """engineering""" question: - Whose PDS does this information get written in and how do we govern which services can write in it? When we leave the latter to engineers, we're giving them too much power.

BTW, I intend to keep the "engineering" to a minimum, but I don't believe you can meaningful separate the engineering and the social as much as we wish we could. We can separate *some* details, but for the conversation to be meaningful, we need a shared picture of who's in charge of what.

Commenting your code is an underrated learning (and unblocking) trick: at the end of the day, programming is modeling the flow of data/information through a system. If your understanding of it breaks, writing down what's happening is often a great way to find where you're....yk, "losing your plot" 😏
