Bikes and dogs and such. Here to collect fuel for my strongly worded emails. #CovidCautious and need more community so hmu 😷

My dad was coming over to help solve a sound issue with the new vintage receiver I got for his old speakers, so I ordered Phil Collins’ Face Value album to play one of his favorite songs, as a surprise. He cried. He stood there between the blaring speakers with his eyes closed and cried 😭 I don’t

My dad and I spent a year trying to find some way to upgrade my record player but eventually gave up because we just couldn’t find any modern combination that worked with the speakers. Is there a way? We may need to chat!

Last summer I took my mom on the greenway for her first time. She doesn’t bike much and despite a desire to do better, she definitely carries water for the patriarchy. By the end of that one ride she pointed out that men didn’t communicate their passes and it made her feel like she was in the way.

Online white men in MPLS have Good Politics and then they get out on their bikes and call me a fat bitch for using the sidewalk while I walk my dog.

The news has me thinking about the most egregious work place sexual harassment I’ve encountered but the situation was so crazy, that part wasn’t my biggest problem. This attorney was deep in a meth addiction spiral. He fired me and a Jr. partner for being FBI informants. It was such an awkward 1/

Sometimes I just sit around stewing about how ride or die so many Minnesotans have been, how they showed up through sacrifice big and small. They made the bad guys push through them at every step. Gave up nothing for free. And the best governor we’re being offered is Klob. It’s embarrassing.

This is extremely damning and reeks of a coverup. These allegations were filed back in April. #SaintPaul continues to face multiple crises and Her's actions have made solving anything functionally impossible. Our city needs a mayor with integrity and vision. @mayorher.bsky.social should resign.

The lack of transparency related to this matter to date is unacceptable. The City Council learned about these allegations and the hiring of the external investigators from the media.

Fine, I’ll be Saint Paul’s interim Mayor. Every week will be infrastructure and housing week until they drag me out. I’ll probably eminent domain a golf course. 🌭

I’m not a fan of being able to see through my new table. There’s always spiders and bugs crawling around under there. But look at this guy, he’s missing a very important leg! In this heat!

The underside of a green hopping and flying bug I can’t name, seen through a glass table top as it clings to the underside. It is missing one of its big back legs, so no longer a hopper.

Just 15mn into this book and am feeling it. The way long Covid can steal your brain is horrid. I get lost in familiar places. I once found myself elbows deep in a box of junk, wondering what I was looking for. I have made decisions while biking that have left me shook.

Old man in the woods. (Not long after this I got us lost and almost had to carry him. I had to fight the panic. He’s 50lbs. He’s teaching me so much about getting old. Like just dealing with shit and sitting down for a bit.)

My eyes are doing that weird film thing that has me concerned it’s going to be an early allergy season. If you’re out killing ragweed, consider also destroying this lambsquarters that is likely also ravaging you in fall. Thanks.

A lambsquarters plant amongst many other green plant. It has a white powdery appearance on its top foliage.

I’m pretty sure I did this almost constantly when I bartended. Not just accent, but matching cadence, tone and mood, etc. Baby I’ll be whoever you need right now 🍸 Intimacy is a powerful tool for effective communication and boosting tips.

People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you

I never considered their approval when purchasing music. But I did get a bootleg cassette of Straight Outta Compton from a friend’s cousin in about 5th grade and when my parents heard it they snatched it. I snuck it back only to have it snatched again and destroyed. But I’d already memorized it 🫡

Potentially fun prompt: What was the first piece of music you bought for yourself knowing your parents wouldn't approve? Mine was "The Downward Spiral." Picked up cassette on a trip to a Dewey Beach music store. Had heard "Closer" on MTV (where the "fucks" were muted) and wanted in.

I somehow missed that my CEO celebrated Pride with a recorded conversation with a trans woman in leadership and sent it out company-wide. This shouldn’t feel exceptional, but in today times, my god this makes me happy.

The story of a trans girl who tried to fight Idaho's anti-trans laws, and died to suicide earlier this year, is only now coming to light. Our hearts are broken, but we need to tell these stories and mourn our dead, because the media is barely bothering to look for the victims of trans genocide.
