Sending love to @leighfinke.bsky.social and @hwajeongkim.bsky.social, who showed up for our unhoused neighbors under assault by the city at the Fish Hatchery encampment. Thank you.
Awooo We live in a failed country Awooo we can't let our city fail Aaaawooooo
From today. It looked like they were in the process of putting up chain link on both sides of the tunnel. No obvious damage to the interior beyond the previous dampness and cracks.
#OnThisDay Aug 5 1851: Faced with mounting debt and settlers already pouring in, the last 2 Bands of the Dakota reluctantly sell their land in the "Treaty of Mendota." This also forces them onto reservations and opens almost all of the vast Southern Minnesota Territory to white settlement.
I’m here at the Fish Hatchery encampment in St. Paul as the city prepares to sweep the camp. St. Paul cops are stopping cars coming in but there are dozens of people that have gathered here in anticipation of the sweep in order to help camp residents and document what the city does here today.
Choosing to go forward with this violence against the wishes and best practice understanding of every other portion of local government and every field expert is shameful and the Mayor should be ashamed.
Kat Donnelly, a nurse with Healthcare for the Homeless, spent Tuesday scrambling to refill medications and make sure patients knew where to find her ahead of the Pig's Eye Park encampment closure Wednesday morning.
Someone tell me this isn't part of Mayor Her's persecution of unhoused citizens because nothing else makes sense.

It's amazing how hard establishment Dems will work to avoid saying "Universal Healthcare".
Buying in bulk gets you a better price. As Governor, I'll expand Minnesota's bulk purchasing of prescription drugs to lower costs.
With the caveat that there's a minefield of gender-dynamic issues at play here (both in the specific allegations against Her, and her response thereof)...I don't see how, on a functional level, this lasts a full term. Just omnidirectional alienating vibes emanating from the mayor's office. Bad stuff
Scoop: In a private call with top officials, St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her lashed at requests to delay a homeless encampment sweep. She attributed her anger to “fuckery” being said about her in public, 3 officials told @axios.com . One state rep logged off in frustration. www.axios.com/local/twin-c...
Gave an old high school friend a tour around #SaintPaul today, loaned her a vintage Pug I recently completed. She lives in the German Alps and enjoyed all our hills, was lowkey disappointed that I didn't want to climb Ramsey Hill 🫠. StP trails & views made an excellent impression.
On Jan. 11, Gregory Bovino watched as his Border Patrol agents dragged a man out of his car at a St. Paul Speedway, knelt on his back until he lost consciousness, and dragged his limp body into the back of a van. The man's name is Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano and this is his story.
Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano survived a violent arrest in St. Paul. It still haunts him. • Minnesota Reformer
The morning of Jan. 11 began for Orbin Mauricio Henriquez Serrano with an ominous warning: The gas light on his Jeep Cherokee was glowing yellow on the dashboard. He didn’t want to go to work at the r...

My piece in @pioneerpress.bsky.social: "A mayor without a vision doesn’t just make bad decisions — they make unpredictable ones. Six months into Kaohly Her’s term, St. Paul has learned the difference." www.twincities.com/2026/08/02/c...
Cole Hanson: St. Paul mayor’s lack of vision shows in her bad, unpredictable decisions
“She won last November not because she offered St. Paul a compelling vision but because Melvin Carter didn’t run a meaningful campaign,” Hanson writes.

Scared up a brown bear, a deer, a hawk, and 4 baby raccoons while biking the Paul Bunyan trail through the Chippewa National Forest today. Only got a pic of 2 of the raccoons. Walker, MN.
Tuned in briefly to @hiddenbrain.bsky.social on @mprnews.org. An episode about the narratives we tell ourselves. Shankar Vedantam chose to begin with a discussion of Harry Potter. Radio: off. WTF?! Is it that hard to find works not penned by hate mongers?

It's bad to abduct & deport people because...it makes healthcare less affordable? Someday Klob may rise above the second level of Kohlberg's moral hierarchy. But today is not that day.
They spent $70 billion on ICE to do THIS instead of bringing down your health care costs! Johns Hopkins health researcher w/valid Visa ‘til 2029 & came to U.S. as Fulbright scholar, taken by ICE at airport, sent to 3 states’ detention centers, released
”Minneapolis provides the clearest example. From the large park encampments that emerged during the pandemic to the high-profile closure of Camp Nenookaasi and subsequent citywide enforcement efforts, officials have repeatedly declared victory after encampments disappeared from public view.”

Just learned our senior senator had a child. That’s on me; I should have remembered. Felt bad. Read her Wikipedia entry to learn about her. Found this: “Under Klobuchar, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office prosecuted people for possession of khat.” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Klo...

I have a record of taking on hard fights, and I have a record of winning them. As Governor, I’ll bring that same energy to Minnesota.
Sometimes I just sit around stewing about how ride or die so many Minnesotans have been, how they showed up through sacrifice big and small. They made the bad guys push through them at every step. Gave up nothing for free. And the best governor we’re being offered is Klob. It’s embarrassing.
The "hard fight" would be for universal healthcare, which Amy refuses to support. She'd rather tinker around the margins or our broken healthcare system and declare victory. There's no "winning" until EVERYONE has access to healthcare, Amy.

pearson's in st. paul is closing and laying off all its workers
This is extremely damning and reeks of a coverup. These allegations were filed back in April. #SaintPaul continues to face multiple crises and Her's actions have made solving anything functionally impossible. Our city needs a mayor with integrity and vision. @mayorher.bsky.social should resign.
The lack of transparency related to this matter to date is unacceptable. The City Council learned about these allegations and the hiring of the external investigators from the media.
I have been following the story of St. Paul Mayor Kaoly Her’s repeated sexual harassment of city employees, and in light of this statement it is clearly time for her to resign her position as mayor. This is a breach of ethics and trust, and for Her to refer to it as “attempts at humor” is galling.
Klob is meeting here with a full 1% of Hallock's population. Hallock appears to be further away from MSP than any other incorporated town in the state. Every day, Klob tells us whose interests she'll represent as governor.
It was great to be in Hallock for a discussion with local leaders, business owners, and community members about the opportunities and challenges facing northwest Minnesota. www.kittsonarea.com/2026/07/21/k...
Everyone! The most important people in public are pedestrians. They don't need to watch out for you. Their safety is not a "shared responsibility." Let's get that straight right now.
Former Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter set the standard for ethical and innovative leadership for the Twin Cities. I am honored to have his endorsement.
