Prior to #UNOC3 we organised the #MPAConnect conference in the Canary Islands. We brought together key actors from all sectors working on MPAs in the Macaronesia and beyond, to exchange experiences, lessons learned and define priorities for this region.

#UNOC3 highlights this week 🫧This week was a great opportunity to connect, network and witness several commitments from governments and coalitions towards achieving ambitious targets. I’m proud to see #angelsharks as a species highlighted on various occasions! Was it worth the trip? Absolutely!

Last week, we survey the largest angelshark nursery, Las Teresitas, thanks to Fundación Santa Cruz Sostenible & Cepsa🦈 Recaptured a few pups, showing they stay for over a year. Las Teresitas offers shelter & food!

Just wrapped up a field campaign in the south of Lanzarote with Rubicon Diving, acoustically tagging angelsharks! 📡 This research will help us better understand how angelshark populations use the Lobos corridor and contribute to their conservation #Angelshark #MarineConservation
