Fact: Owl ears aren't symmetrical, in that one is positioned higher on the skull than the other. The difference in the time it takes to hear a sound from L to R helps them to calculate the location of prey. Their eyes are also fixed in place, so looking around means constant head movement.

When I searched for floss on Amazon a year ago, it was pretty much just Reach and Dr. Tungs. Now it’s all this fancy xylitol, charcoal, nano, AI, striped, expanding, super mega floss from a dozen brands I’ve never seen before. I can even buy eucalyptus floss.

Wild budgies drinking at a dam in the southern Flinders Ranges. I am hopeful that this coming summer will be a good season for budgies again - following on from all this rain. They are highly nomadic and you can never be sure where they'll show up.
