A reminder that platforms are owned by the wealthiest of people, control the means of media distribution, & put their thumbs on the democracy scale as they wish
It's also a major driver of houselessness. One of the situations we encounter here all the time is people being pushed out of their homes because they can't keep their dog or cat. And they would literally rather die on the streets than lose their furry family member. And too often, they do.

Almost 25% of pet owners have considered rehoming a pet bc of costs. 12% of pet owners have. Sheltering/policing ownerless pets is MORE expensive than making it possible to keep them. This is cute politics and good policy.

My kid has started a Letterboxd list called Killer Sweaters for films where the killer wears a great sweater and they've asked me to throw it out to Bluesky for more because "that's the kind of thing those weirdos like to do"
But will the "Shilya" truthers shut up now? I'm guessing not. This phenomenon of not being to love something without hating something about it equally strongly is SO tiring.
