Human rights for all, share social and economic rewards, living wage, religion has no place in government, accountability for government. My likes and reposts do not equal endorsements.

It's also vital that AI providers build safety into their products from the outset, and that the government ensures that our kids' safety can be protected online. We need a legislated digital duty of care as a matter of urgency.

Around 1 in 3 children reported sharing personal or sensitive information with AI, including photographs or personal secrets. It's important for parents to support their kids' safe, healthy and balanced use of AI.

The AI genie is out of the box & we have to protect our kids from its potential harms. A new report, Talking to machines: Children’s experiences with AI assistants & companions, found that almost almost 4 in 5 🇦🇺 children aged 10-17 have used an AI assistant & 1 in 5 were using them at least daily.

NEW: Voters have rejected Republicans' scheme to unseat the Kansas Supreme Court's Dem-appointed majority and overturn abortion rights. Amendment 1 would have let the GOP replace the system of a nominating commission, gubernatorial appointment, and retention elections with direct partisan elections

"In 2019, researchers estimated Australia had over 20,000 volunteer wildlife carers, each of whom spend an average of $5,300 of their own money on food and equipment annually (about $100 million in total). On average, each volunteer put in 32 hours a week."

This article is excellent. It speaks volumes about how governments take so many in the environmental and conservation sectors and communities for granted theconversation.com/australia-ha.... As H5N1 begins to spread and devastate Australian wildlife the dire consequences of this are evident.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

Tim Costello shocks the Senate after revealing a young man in prison who had his life turned upside down from gambling was being offered drugs & escorts by TAB & SportsBet as inducements “He was given escorts” & “asked, ‘what drugs you like?’” And we’re still just debating ads?

David Pocock left stunned as Luke Bateman who has recovered from a serious gambling addiction also reveals he was being offered drugs, Pocock “The actual leaders of these companies knew what was happening?” Bateman “Not only did they know, they were participating in it.”💥

The thing that haunts you after being there is that it's their nightly reality. Lying in a hotel room listening to air defense frantically tearing up the night sky or waiting it out in a shelter and knowing that unlike them, for you this is 4 nights of horror and then you're back on a train home.

🇺🇦‼️Jesse Eisenberg witnessed the Russian shelling of Ukraine during a visit and reacted to it: “What if they bombed New York?” "We were woken up by anxiety, we went down to the shelter, and in the morning I saw the consequences of the shelling. It was devastating, terrible, outrageous, tragic. 1/2

Qantas ruthless and disrespectful in retrieving my delayed bags. Causing terrible stress and health problems and reuining 3/10 days holiday so far. Not one proactive call to me. Awful and dishonest call centre staff. Beyond appalling service

Sarah Hanson-Young savages Sportsbet GM Jules Norton Selzer after he refuses to answer whether they've ever returned money to victims after it’s found to have been stolen. SHY “I have to take that as a No”💥 Is it because they thrive on criminal money? Shocking.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

Wow. How awful is Qantas when you need info about delayed baggage & urgently need meds & hearing aid recharger from bag (can survive 30 degrees in winter clothes). Constant misinformation & appalling disrespect. Have broken ankle & no Audiology services in Broome so no backup @qant-as.bsky.social

Greste is correct. But what also weakens our democratic system is if other news outlets* won't act in solidarity with ABC, Guardian and Nine, and boycott Hanson until she is prepared to face scrutiny from ALL journalists. [*excluding Murdoch and Seven West, of course, who rarely do journalism.]

Dave Earley@earleyedition.bsky.social · 3d ago

"By locking out the ABC, The Age and The Guardian, One Nation is directly weakening our democratic system," Greste said.
