I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

One of the key messages I carry is that we don't have to accept any of this. Sometimes I see opposition in the form of "Get in loser, you'll be left behind" and other times it's in the form of "It's all over the place, what do you mean you think you can opt out?" >>

Sad to see those two games disappear from the stores. Working on those was a highlight of my career, not just because it is a legendary adventure series, but because of the great people involved.

Steam info about Leisure Suit Larry:

"Well, all good things must come to an end eventually.
After a fantastic run, Larry is getting ready to hang up his leisure suit.
Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice will only be available on Steam until October 23. After that, both games will be removed from the store.
We've had an amazing time bringing Larry back, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who joined him on his adventures, laughed at his questionable decisions, and supported the games along the way. It's been a fantastic run, and we're happy we got to be part of it.
Unfortunately, we can't share anything about his future.
So if you've been thinking about giving Larry's latest adventures a try, now's the time. The "Last Chance" discounts will begin in just a few hours (October 9). Once October 23 passes, these two games will be gone from the store.
Give Larry the farewell he deserves.
Get them now or never."

Great thread. And I think ... AI is the digital non-place. The same billionaires who destroy the real world destroy digital human place, to replace them with AI non-places. That's why it fits their mindset so perfectly. Even worse, it's THEIR tech. Bleak.

The reason young people vibe with liminal horror is that the wealthy have spent the last half century destroying all anthropological spaces they can exist in, leaving *only* non-places en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-place

Lolll I've been doing this shit forever and saying the same exact thing I'm saying right now more than a decade ago and am "being pushed by contrarian media dynamics." 🙄 All of you are hypnotized by talk of fictional machine gods and it's me who has to bring evidence to the contrary.

I have been yelling since 2021 about how using synthetic text extruding machines for information access is a TERRIBLE IDEA. And yet and yet and yet: they are marketing so heavily that way that people keep falling for it. edition.cnn.com/2026/09/18/p...

Turn it into a ‘new talent’ type program, harnessing its potential as an anthology to act as a springboard for both newer creative minded folks and those with experience in other fields to work under skilled TV people, with the goal of making the Doctor a true natural symbol of British creativity.

The BBC has launched a tender process for 'Doctor Who,' calling on producers to pitch a "brave" new vision for the iconic sci-fi series.

I was getting increasingly frustrated with the Discourse this week, and then Ed asked me to come on and vent about it. Felt good and hopefully did some good too. (The next day, Cal and I talked about it even more for @dreamingagainstthemachine.com. That episode will be up next week!)

You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.
