Even if the crowds and the vibes are great at the WC now that games are going, there are still plenty of people who do not get to participate in any of this because of the draconian and racist policies of this administration. The pomp and the sport makes it too easy to forget about/overlook them.

The thing is though they spent a decade investigating and building evidence against Hernandez before he was indicted. It’s the flimsy and pretextual nature of the accusations here that stands out, since the same could be applied to Sheinbaum or Carney or virtually anyone else next week.

We prosecuted Hernández like a month after his presidency ended and Noriega was captured after we invaded while he was dictator there. That doesn't make it OK but it does make me skeptical there'll be consequences.
So fmr Honduran President Hernandez voluntarily surrendered, and was duly extradited, tried and convicted for drug trafficking, and Trump pardoned him 6w ago. And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.
